MAME stands for Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator. When used in
conjunction with images of the original arcade game's ROM and disk
data, MAME attempts to reproduce that game as faithfully as possible
on a more modern general-purpose computer. MAME can currently emulate
several thousand different classic arcade video games from the late
1970s through the modern era.
Hatari is an emulator for the Atari ST, STE, TT and Falcon computers. It
tries to emulate the hardware of a ST as close as possible so that it is
able to run most of the old ST games and demos.
Mupen64Plus is a plugin-based N64 emulator for Linux, Mac OSX, FreeBSD, and
Windows which is capable of accurately playing many games. Included are four
MIPS R4300 CPU emulators, with dynamic recompilers for 32-bit x86 and 64-bit
amd64 systems, and necessary plugins for audio, graphical rendering (RDP),
signal co-processor (RSP), and input. There are 3 OpenGL video plugins
included: glN64, RiceVideoLinux, and Glide64.
OGRE (Object-Oriented Graphics Rendering Engine) is a scene-oriented, flexible
3D engine written in C++ designed to make it easier and more intuitive for
developers to produce games and demos utilising 3D hardware. The class library
abstracts all the details of using the underlying system libraries like
Direct3D and OpenGL and provides an interface based on world objects and other
intuitive classes.
LambdaMOO is a network-accessible, multi-user, programmable, interactive
system well-suited to the construction of text-based adventure games,
conferencing systems, and other collaborative software.
Its most common use, however, is as a multi-participant,
low-bandwidth virtual reality, and it is with this focus in mind
that I describe it here.
See also /usr/local/share/doc/LambdaMOO.
UPnP IGD client lightweight library
The usage of the miniUPnP client library is useful whenever an application
needs to listen for incoming connections.
Examples : P2P applications, FTP clients for active mode, IRC (for DCC)
or IM applications, network games, any server.

sgf2tex is a system for typesetting Go games and diagrams using TeX. This
system may be used with either plain TeX or LaTeX. It includes the Metafont
sources for a new set of Go fonts, and a Perl script called Sgf2tex which
translates files in ``Smart Go Format'' (SGF) into TeX.
These are Steve Baker <sjbaker1@airmail.net>'s portability libraries. They
are licensed under the LGPL.
The following libraries are provided:
JS -- A Joystick interface.
PUI -- A simple GUI built on top of OpenGL.
SG -- Some Standard Geometry functions (vector and
matrix math, spheres, boxes, frustra, etc)
SL -- A Games-oriented Sound Library.
SSG -- A Simple Scene Graph API built on top of OpenGL.
Guake is a dropdown terminal made for the GNOME desktop environment,
but you can run it with TWM too ;-), if you install ports/x11/trayer
or a similar program.
Its style of window is based on fps games, and one of its purposes
is to be easy to reach.
