This is the second official Quake II expansion: Ground Zero (also known as
Rogue, as developed by Rogue Entertainment).
Take out the Big Gun sounded simple enough, except the Strogg were waiting.
You, and a few marines like you, are the lucky ones. You've made it down in
one piece and are still able to contact the fleet. The Gravity Well, the
Strogg's newest weapon in its arsenal against mankind, is operational. With
the fleet around Stroggos, 5% of ground forces surviving, and that number
dwindling by the second, your orders have change: free your comrades.
Destroy the Gravity Well.
- New enemies -- The Stalker, Turrets, Daedalus, Medic Commander, Carrier,
and the Black Widow.
- 14 entirely new levels and 10 new deathmatch levels
- New power-ups -- deathmatch specific power-ups: Vengeance Sphere, Hunter
Sphere, and Anti-matter bomb
- New weapons -- The Chainsaw, ETF Rifle, and Plasma Beam
This port installs the game.so file, but you still need the original data.
tt is an implementation of the well-known game tetris. Quadominoes (groups
of four squares joined orthogonally together) slowly fall down the screen,
accumulating at the bottom, and when the pile reaches the top of the screen
the game is over.
The pieces may be moved to the left or right, and rotated as they fall, with
the aim of making them tessellate with the pieces already at the bottom of
the game area. The height of the stack of pieces can be reduced by filling
a complete row of ten squares, at which point that row will disappear, and
those above will fall down into its place. It is possible (and desirable)
to destroy multiple rows at once.
Urban Terror is a realism based total conversion mod for Quake III Arena which
no longer requires this game to be played. It only uses its engine, which is
open sourced through the GPL and may be distributed freely. Urban Terror plays
in about the same setting as Counter Strike, but is less focused on realism
and plays much faster, which among other things, is caused by the ability to
strafe jump, which combined with wall jumping can lead to very quick movement
and nice jumps. Urban Terror has 7 game modes, 25 maps and 15 weapons.
This port only contains the data, and can be played with ioUrbanTerror
(games/iourbanterror) or any other Quake 3 Arena compatible engine.
The goal of the game is to reach the highest possible score. You get a limited
number of pipes on each level and need to combine them to lead the water from
the house at the top of the screen to the storage tank at the bottom. For each
pipe water goes through, you get 20 points and if you fill the cross-pipe both
ways, you get 60 points. At end of each level, you are awarded depending on the
skill level:
* Beginner: 100 points
* Toolman: 100 points + number of pipes remaining
* Master plumber: 100 points + 2 x number of pipes remaining
Some of the levels also have obstacles where you cannot place pipes. The game
is playable with joystick/joypad: just move it and press buttons when you go to
Options -> Configure controls
Xjewel is a dropping block game akin to tetris.
It is played by controlling the motion of blocks which continue to fall from
the top of the screen. One can move them left and right, as well as
rotate the jewel segments. The object is to get the most points before
the grim reaper ends the fun.
Death happens when the screen is no longer capable of holding any more
blocks. To make high scores more interesting, you are given but three
attempts to get points -- use them wisely.
As the game progresses, and more jewels are removed, the speed of the game
will increase. This is measured in seconds of delay between steps of
block motion.
The original puzzle has 9 triangles per face (size = 3)
and has period 4 turning (i.e. the face or points turn with
90 degree intervals). The puzzle was designed by Uwe Meffert
and called the Magic Octahedron (or Star Puzzler). The
puzzle was not widely distributed but not exactly rare. This
puzzle has some analogies to the Rubik's Cube and the
solving techniques are the same to that of the Pyraminx.
Christoph's Magic Jewel is similar except there are no
trivial corners to solve. This has 2^22*12! or
2,009,078,326,886,400 different combinations.
Uwe Meffert also noticed that there could be an alternate
twisting for the octahedron where it has period 3 turning
(i.e. faces turn with 120 degree intervals).
One is able to simulate a Trajber's Octahedron (period 3
turning and sticky mode). Also one is able to simulate one
with variant turning (period 4 turning and sticky mode).
This program writes short movies with your Canon DSLR camera directly to the
computer. The camera must have Live View feature to work; supported models
include Canon EOS 450D, Canon EOS 1000D, Canon 40D, Canon 50D, Canon 5D Mark
II, Canon 1Ds Mark III. The program offers preview, Av, Tv, and WB control.
While some newer models provide video recording natively, this program can
be useful if your camera does not have this option.
Video will be recorded using MJPEG codec, with no sound, roughly at 22 FPS
(depends on your hardware: camera and computer). Image size is also camera
dependent: 848x560 for 450D; 1024x680 for 40D, 50D, and top models; 768x512
for 1000D. Resulting file is simply a collection of Live View frames stored
sequentially without any compression in AVI container (expect file size to
be quite large).
The wavelet decomposition of an image results in multiple images
with different frequency content. When amplifying the high frequency
parts the recomposed image appears to be sharper than the original
one. That way the frequency which should be amplified most can also
be selected and a given unsharpness in the original image can be
taken into account.
The wavelet sharpen plugin enhances apparent sharpness of an image
by increasing contrast in high frequency space. The amount of
unsharpness of the original image can be taken into account by
adjusting the sharpening radius. As an option you can choose to
sharpen the luminance (YCbCr) channel of the image only.
The plugin can be found under "Filters > Enhance > Wavelet sharpen"
A flexible digital photo gallery tool. Features include:
o Index (table), detail, slide, and frame views
o Simple, uncluttered output
o Static HTML output for ease of copying/archiving
o Uses captions from comments embedded in the image files
(utility provided). Captions will never be lost as long as you have
the image file itself.
o Keeps generated images up to date, removes stale files,
only generates needed thumbs, etc.
o Digital photo details extracted from EXIF data
o Can optionally recurse directory trees and make montage images of
directory contents
o Easily configurable, can use an rc file.
o CSS is used for fonts/styles.
o Can handle many image file formats
o Pages pass W3C specs.
o NEW! Supports video files
