Ports Search

Genplist automatically creates a static plist for a port by installing it into a temporary directory, and then examining the directory tree. The process is based on the instructions for plist generation in the FreeBSD Porter's Handbook.

Webbrowser is a wrapper script for finding and running the "best" available installed browser on the system. It is intended for use by other applications that invoke a browser, so that they need not be reconfigured when a user switches to a different browser.

psearch is an utility for searching the FreeBSD Ports Collection. It allows you to use regular expressions, and has support for searching the long description (pkg-descr files), as well as inverse matches that allow filtering of ports.

The comservd program provides a facility to access network terminal server serial ports, such as those available on Xyplex terminal server models, via /dev device file entries. This allows programs such as tip(1) to access devices connected to the terminal server serial ports. Additionally, comservd can serve up local serial ports to remote systems, effectively turning the system running comservd into a terminal server with respect to its own local serial ports.

Anti-Spam SMTP Proxy is a spam filter that sits on port 25 in front of your regular SMTP server (sendmail, postfix, qmail, etc). ASSP performs a number of configurable spam checks, and on detecting a spam message, provides an immediate 5xx SMTP error code back to the client. Non-spam messages are passed to your regular SMTP server for further processing and delivery. ASSP includes SSL and IPv6 support. It is a single script with a web-based configuration tool. ASSP offers: - a whitelist of known good senders - Bayesian checks on message headers and contents - recipient address validation using LDAP and RFC822 conformance - relay denial - HELO checking - SPF (Sender Policy Framework) checking - DNSBL (DNS Block List) checking using many DNSBL services - various SMTP error modes detection - Virus detection and many other spam detection techniques.

Portupgrade is a tool to upgrade installed packages via ports or packages. You can upgrade installed packages without having to reinstall depending or dependent packages. It can automatically trace dependency chains up and down upgrading packages recursively. This package also includes the following utilities: portinstall: Helps you install new ports in a handy way. portsvnweb: Instantly lets you browse change history via SVNweb. portversion: Replaces pkg_version(1) and helps you upgrade packages with portupgrade(1). (runs much faster) portsclean: Cleans ports workdir's, unreferenced distfiles, old and orphan shared libraries, and stale packages. portsdb: Creates binary database from the ports INDEX. ports_glob: Expands ports globs. pkg_deinstall: Wraps pkg_delete(1) and provides additional features. pkg_fetch: Fetches packages from a remote site. pkg_glob: Expands package globs. pkg_which: Checks which package a file came from quickly. pkgdb: Manages and searches the package database. pkgdu: Display a disk usage for installed packages.
