This is a port of the GPL'd Quake 1 source maintained by the Quake Forge
team. They're patching it with an eye towards portability and bug fixes,
and in the future, feature enhancments.
Note that to actually USE this port you will need to obtain an installed
copy of Quake 1 from a DOS/Windows machine.

[Original description for version 0.0.2beta1]
Qonk is a small game I wrote to learn some SDL basics. The game is a small
build-and-conquer strategy game with very simple rules. A complete game only
lasts for a few minutes and can be a fun break away from work or whatever
you're doing.
The setting of the game is a solar system of planets. Your goal is to conquer
all of the planets in the game by sending ships there. Planets that are under
your control generate new ships. Simple AI players are playing against you. As
you gain more experience throughout the game, more AI players have to be
kicked out of bigger solar systems.
The game is currently very much in beta. I published it however in order to
see whether it compiles on other machines, and to see what reactions people
had on its gameplay. The game engine itself is fully functional. A lot of
things have to be added to make this a mature game (like menus and stuff), but
since the engine itself works, Qonk is already very playable.
Reaper Bot is a Quake 1 modification that adds bot support to the game.
Things the Reaper can do, that you cannot include:
- Ability to grab the rocket or grenade launcher without being physically
near it.
- Faster rate of fire. From rockets to nails the Reaper has you beat on
quantity, so you better be focusing on quality shots.
- Perfect aim. A Reaper bot will never miss its target when firing the
shotgun.
Gnake is a Nibbles clone for GNU/Linux and *BSD.
It's played on a terminal (controlled by the curses library) with the
keyboard: the game is really simple and that's why I like playing it even in
the oh-my-god-my-graphics-card-costs-more-than-the-rest-of-the-computer era.
For the list of available options, type ``gnake -h''.
Robocode is a programming game, where the goal is to develop a robot battle tank
to battle against other tanks in Java or .NET. The robot battles are running in
real-time and on-screen.
The motto of Robocode is: Build the best, destroy the rest!
Rubix is another X11-based incarnation of the world-famous
"Rubik's Cube" game. It has the capability of saving games,
which, according to the author, can't be found in any other
Rubik's Cube games.
Excessive is a mod for Quake III Arena. It's a server-side only mod, so if you
only want to play on Excessive servers, you do not need to install this. If
you plan on running an Excessive server, then this is for you.
OSP Tourney DM is designed to facilitate competitive, yet flexible, match
play. This mod simply makes it easier and more convenient for players and
and admins alike to enhance the Quake 3 experience. There have absolutely
been *NO* changes to the core gameplay or its dynamics -- its all default
Quake 3 in this regard.
Rocket Arena matches are played in "arenas". Each map may have one or more
arenas in it. When you connect to a server, you need to select an arena and
then either create or join a team. Once you are in the arena, you will be
put in line to fight.
