p5-Astro is a set of assorted astronomical routines.
Astro::Time, Astro::Coord and Astro::Misc provide a collection of
useful astronomical routines written entirely in Perl (so no
hassling about installing external libraries is required).
cvsadmin is a simple program to administrate users of a CVS repository.
It currently allows you to easily :
Name Arguments
---- ---------
list list of usernames || nothing
add list of usernames
del list of usernames
email user list
rename list of alternating olduser/newuser
misc list of usernames
sys list of usernames
pass list of usernames
The actions name should be self-explaining, except misc, which ask you for
all the fields (email, system user, password) on your terminal.
"gag" is a program to scan for "stacheldraht" agents, which are part
of an active "stacheldraht" network. It will not detect trinoo,
the original Tribe Flood Network (TFN), or TFN2K agents. For methods
of detecting trinoo and Tribe Flood Network, see:
http://staff.washington.edu/dittrich/misc/trinoo.analysis
http://staff.washington.edu/dittrich/misc/tfn.analysis
(Why "gag"? Its supposed to be a running joke I started in the trinoo
analysis. trinoo/trinot, "tribe"/civilize, gag/sicken&gesundheit!.
Read the ddos trilogy to find out!)
The Libnotify plugin is a misc plugin for gmpc. The plugin uses libnotify to
send messages to the notification-daemon on song change. It will show the song
title, artist, album (date) and genre. It will also display the album cover if
available.
It can act as a replacement for the built-in notification.
Set::Array allows you to create arrays as objects and use OO-style
methods on them. Many convenient methods are provided here that appear
in the FAQ's, the Perl Cookbook or posts from comp.lang.perl.misc. In
addition, there are Set methods with corresponding (overloaded)
operators for the purpose of Set comparison, i.e. +, ==, etc.
CYR-RFX started as a collection of cyrillic fonts for X-Window
("CYR-RFX" stands for "CYRillic Raster Fonts for X"). Now it includes
several cyrillic encodings and two latin ones (both with Euro sign).
These fonts are modified (mainly with cyrillics added) versions of
standard X-Window fonts from misc/ and 75dpi/.
The fonts included are all *iso8859-1 from misc/, and most important
75dpi/ ones: lu (LucidaSans), lut (LucidaSansTypewriter), tim (Times),
helv (Helvetica) and cour (Courier).
Unlike the standard CYR-RFX' hierarchical install, this port installs
all fonts for the same encoding into a single directory, with combined
fonts.aliases and the new fonts.dir. The default encoding is KOI8-O --
seemingly the most complete of the Cyrillic encodings, compatible (for
most intents and purposes) with KOI8-R and KOI8-U.
ImageMagick is a package for display and interactive manipulation of
images. The package includes tools for image conversion, annotation,
compositing, animation, and creating montages. ImageMagick can read and
write many of the more popular image formats (e.g. JPEG, TIFF, PNM, XPM,
Photo CD, etc.).
The package can be built _without_ the GUI (X11) support at all -- it
will not have the display, import, and animate functionality, but remain
extremely useful for image manipulation.
The optional "display" utility conflicts with the utility of the
same name from the misc/display port/package.
This port is for International Fonts excluding what distributed with X
Window Systems.
This contains free X11 fonts for all characters that Emacs and XEmacs
can handle. They are classified into several categories.
European -- European normal size fonts (suitable with the other fonts)
European-BIG -- European big fonts
Asian -- Asian (non-CJK) fonts
Chinese -- Chinese normal size fonts excluding what distributed with X
Chinese.BIG -- Chinese big fonts
Japanese -- Japanese normal size fonts excluding what distributed with X
Japanese.BIG -- Japanese big fonts
Ethiopic -- Ethiopic fonts
Misc -- fonts for the other regions/scripts
TrueType -- Truetype fonts
Type1 -- Postscript Type1 fonts
nxtvepg - Decoder, Browser and Analyzer for the Nextview
Electronic Programme Guide
nxtvepg is an X11 application to decode, analyze and browse TV programme
schedules transmitted on analog TV channels as defined in ETS 300 707:
"Protocol for a TV Guide using electronic data transmission" by the European
Telecommunications Standards Institute.
nxtvepg enables you to obtain free TV programme listings for all of the major
networks in Germany, Austria, France and Switzerland.
Currently Nextview EPG is transmitted by the following TV networks (note that
each of these EPGs cover not only the provider's programme but also that of many
other networks): Kabel1, 3Sat, RTL-II (Germany and Austria), SF1, TSR1, TSI1,
EuroNews (Switzerland), Canal+, M6 (France), TRT-1 (Turkey).
You will need a bktr(4) compatible tv tuner card with teletext support in order
to use nxtvepg.
It is recommended to check the card's setup before using nxtvepg, e.g. with the
following applications from the ports collection:
multimedia/fxtv for tv tuner and misc/alevtv for Teletext support.
