Rclock is an analog clock for X intended as an xclock(1) replacement that conserves memory and has extra features: rclock enters reverse video if there is mail waiting; an appointment reminder is also builtin. The ~/.rclock file lists the messages to display and/or the programs to run at specified times and dates.

Worker is a file manager for X11, based on the famous Directory Opus file manager for AmigaOS. It is configurable on the fly without the need for restart. Any external program can be easily integrated in GUI, including buttons and hotkeys. Worker uses real file recognition on file content and/or file ending, where each file type can get their own action.

cwm is a window manager for X11 initially inspired by evilwm. cwm has several novel features, including the ability to search for windows. it features a very simple and attractive aesthetic. This port is based on OpenBSD's continued work on cwm, as development on the project seems to have halted.

SLiM is a desktop-independent graphical login manager for X11, derived from Login.app by Per Liden. It aims to be light and simple, although completely configurable through themes and an option file; is suitable for machines on which remote login functionalities are not needed.

xmotd is a message-of-the-day browser for X11 and dumb-terminals, that can also be used to broadcast messages to users logged in across a network. xmotd periodically checks whether a file has been modified and pops up and displays the contents of the file, if it has.

"Gem Drop X" is an interesting one-player puzzle game using the Simple DirectMedia Layer (SDL) libraries. It is a direct port of "Gem Drop," an Atari 8-bit game written in Action! (a very fast C- and Pascal-like compiled language for the Atari). It was originally ported to X11, using SDL for sound and music. Eventually, the Xlib graphics calls were removed and replaced with SDL calls. The concept of the game "Gem Drop" is based on an arcade game for the NeoGeo system called "Magical Drop III" by SNK. If you're familiar with games like Jewels, Klax, Bust-A-Move or Tetris, this game is similar to them all. I consider it closest to Klax. Some people have compared it to "Tetris meets Space Invaders."

This is a little hack I wrote to help in setting up new Type 1 PostScript fonts for use with X. It automatically constructs the fonts.scale file which X uses to identify fonts in can use the current directory. Previously you had to write this file by hand which is unacceptable if you have lots of fonts. The program can also generate Fontmap entries for Ghostscript (which can then be put in the global Fontmap to speed up startup times) and it can produce font sample sheets as well. Please be warned that this is beta quality software and has limitations. I think you will, however, find it useful and the bugs will go away over time if people help me with it. XView (X Window-System-based Visual/Integrated Environment for Workstations) is a user-interface toolkit to support interactive, graphics-based applications running under the X Window System. XView provides a set of pre-built, user-interface objects such as canvases, scrollbars, menus, and control panels. The appearance and functionality of these objects follow the OPEN LOOK Graphical User Interface (GUI) specification. XView features an object-oriented style Application Programmer's Interface (API) that is straightforward and easy to learn. This package contains all the configurations files needed for use of the XView libraries and applications. This package contains the libraries, headers and support files necessary to build XView applications. Source Notes ------------ This version of the XView source corresponds to that provided with OpenWindows Version 3.2 from SunSoft Inc. Libraries generated with this source should be interchangeable with those from the OpenWindows Version 3.2 release.

Easystroke is a gesture-recognition application for X11. Gestures or strokes are movements that you make with your mouse (or your pen, finger etc.) while holding down a specific mouse button. Easystroke will execute certain actions if it recognizes the stroke; currently easystroke can emulate key presses, execute shell commands, hold down modifiers and emulate a scroll wheel. The program was designed with Tablet PCs in mind and can be used effectively even without access to a keyboard.

The xcalendar is a simple interactive calendar program with a notebook capability. It is built on the X Toolkit and the Athena Widgets. Just type `xcalendar [month [year]]' on command line. If month and year are not provided on the command line they are assumed to be current. Note: This program is internationalized but only app-defaults files for English (C) and Japanese (ja_JP.eucJP) are included. Let's add another locales!
