DB2LaTeX are a set of XSLT stylesheets which generate high level LaTeX2e from
your docbook document. They do not perform any FO transformation, the only
thing they do is to map DocBook tags into more or less standard LaTeX (a recent
installation of LaTeX 2e is required, with most common packages. However, in
more stable releases, package dependencies will be completely managed with xsl
parameters, making it virtually compatible with basic LaTeX 2e installations).
All the "styling" has to be done by modifying available xsl:params, overriding
and customizing templates, and in the last, by adding your "sty" files.
Ruby wrapper around David Loren Parsons' discount, a fast,
BSD-licensed C implementation of John Gruber's Markdown plus
some aspects of SmartyPants. Markdown is a text-to-HTML
conversion language for web writers, inspired by the format
of plain-text e-mail messages. Markdown allows you to write
in an easy-to-read, easy-to-write plain text format, then
convert it to structurally valid XHTML (or HTML).

Despite the fact that open formats like RTF are good and widely
avialable, far too many idiots seem to insist on using Word .doc
format. This program is an attempt to limit the damage this causes
users of non-Microsoft systems and text processing systems, for
example LaTeX.

txt2html is a Perl program that converts plain text to HTML using
the included HTML::TextToHTML module.
It supports headings, lists, simple character markup, and
hyperlinking, and is highly customizable. It recognizes some of the
apparent structure of the source document (mostly whitespace and
typographic layout), and attempts to mark that structure explicitly
using HTML.
