l2tpd is an implementation of the layer two tunneling protocol. It works in
user space completely (although kernel work is planned after the userspace
version is stablized). l2tpd works by opening a pseudo-tty for communicating
with pppd(8).
libcapn is a C Library to interact with the Apple Push Notification Service
using simple and intuitive API. With the library you can easily send push
notifications to iOS and Mac OS X devices.
Libnet is a high-level API (toolkit) allowing the application programmer to
construct and inject network packets. It provides a portable and simplified
interface for low-level network packet shaping, handling and injection.
Libnet hides much of the tedium of packet creation from the application
programmer such as multiplexing, buffer management, arcane packet header
information, byte-ordering, OS-dependent issues, and much more.
Libnet features portable packet creation interfaces at the IP layer
and link layer, as well as a host of supplementary and complementary
functionality.
Using libnet, quick and simple packet assembly applications can be whipped up
with little effort. With a bit more time, more complex programs can be written
(Traceroute and ping were easily rewritten using libnet and libpcap).
The core of the Netdude framework and the place where the packet manipulations
are performed. It allows you to implement trace file manipulations at a much
higher level of abstraction than code written directly on top of the pcap
library.
Libproxy exists to answer the question: Given a network resource, how do I
reach it? It handles all the details, enabling you to get back to
programming.
This plug-in allows Mozilla-based browsers to make use of libproxy.

Like inetd, this program listens on the net for requests and spawns a
server to handle them. However, it only handles one port and one
program. Other limitations:
* only 'stream' socket type
* only 'nowait'
* doesn't switch user-ids

"OCN IPv6", provided by NTT Communications Corp, was the first
commercial tunnel service using "L2TP-IPv6PD".
