playmidi is a small, quick midi file player using the level two sequencer of the voxware 3.0 package to play on general midi devices or FM or Gravis Ultrasound. If no files are specified, playmidi will give a short summary of usage options. If more than one file is specified, you may skip to the next file while the current one is playing by pressing your interrupt (usually control-c) key. If you invoke playmidi while it is al- ready running, it will allow you to control the currently running invoca- tion until its death, after which time all waiting invocations fight to go first.

FreeDV is a Digital Voice mode for HF radio. FreeDV allows any SSB radio to be used for low bit rate digital voice. Speech is compressed down to 700-1600 bit/s then modulated onto a 1.25 kHz wide signal comprised of 16 QPSK carriers which is sent to the Mic input of a SSB radio. The signal is received by an SSB radio, then demodulated and decoded by FreeDV. FreeDV 700(B) rivals SSB in it's low SNR performance. At high SNRs FreeDV 1600 sounds like FM, with no annoying analog HF radio noise.

GRIBEX is an interface for encoding and decoding WMO FM-92 GRIB edition 1 messages and some ancillary subroutines for controlling printing and debugging. The GRIBEX software was developed at the European Centre for Medium-range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) and is part of the EMOS library. EMOS is mostly written in Fortran. Therefore it has only a Fortran interface. CGRIBEX is a lightweight version of GRIBEX written in ANSI C with a portable Fortran interface. For best compatibility some of the C sources were converted from the Fortran GRIBEX version.
