The Net::SNMP module implements an object oriented interface to the Simple Network Management Protocol. Perl applications can use the module to retrieve or update information on a remote host using the SNMP protocol. The module supports SNMP version-1, SNMP version-2c (Community-Based SNMPv2), and SNMP version-3. The Net::SNMP module assumes that the user has a basic understanding of the Simple Network Management Protocol and related network management concepts.

The Zinf audio player is a simple, but powerful audio player for Linux and Win32. It supports MP3, Ogg/Vorbis, WAV and Audio CD playback, with a powerful music browser, theme support and a download manager. It is based on the FreeA*p audio player which was developed by EMusic. The FreeA*p project was discontinued due to a trademark conflict and EMusic being acquired by Vivendi.

Sereal is an efficient, compact-output, binary and feature-rich serialization protocol. The Perl encoder is implemented as the Sereal::Encoder module, the Perl decoder correspondingly as Sereal::Decoder. They are distributed separately to allow for safe upgrading without downtime. The encoder and decoder modules are available as these two ports: - converters/p5-Sereal-Encoder - converters/p5-Sereal-Decoder This port will install both of them.

ReadonlyX combines the best features of p5-Readonly and p5-Readonly-XS, and is a drop-in replacement. It creates read-only scalars, arrays, and hashes. It was created by maintainer of Readonly itself. The author says: "ReadonlyX is the best of recent versions of Readonly without the old API and without the speed penalty of tie(...). It's what I'd like to do with Readonly if resolving bugs in it wouldn't break 16 years of code out there in Darkpan."
