MLT is an open source multimedia framework, designed and developed for
television broadcasting. It provides a toolkit for broadcasters, video
editors, media players, transcoders, web streamers and many more types
of applications. The functionality of the system is provided via an
assortment of ready to use tools, XML authoring components, and an
extensible plug-in based API.
XMMS --- X Multimedia System. XMMS is a multimedia player based on the look of
Winamp. Currently it plays mpeg layer 1/2/3, wav, au, CD audio, etc.
Baka MPlayer is a free and open source, cross-platform, libmpv based
multimedia player. Its simple design reflects the idea for an
uncluttered, simple, and enjoyable environment for watching tv shows.
GMiMMS is a GTK+ frontend for MiMMS, a multimedia-stream ripper.
So it is easy to enter the MMS-URL and the output file. You can
also record live-streams by setting the recording length in GMiMMS.
Kaffeine is a multimedia player based on KDE and VLC.

A multimedia server for KiSS/Linksys media players that enables the player to
browse through and play stored files in a wide range of video, audio and image
formats.
kissdx is a PC-Link clone based for the most part on kissd (which it now
replaces), with added features for media playback, management, flexibility and
more.
Freevo is an open-source digital video jukebox (PVR, DVR) based on Linux
in addition to a number of open-source audio/video tools. MPlayer is
used to play audio and video files. MPlayer is an excellent media player
that can play most popular file formats. Freevo can be used both for a
standalone PVR computer with a TV+remote, as well as on a regular
desktop computer using the monitor and keyboard.
Freevo is easy to download and install for new users. Most hardware is
supported (graphic boards, sound cards and video capture devices).
The Freevo core is under heavy development. It is mostly written in the
Python programming language which is very well suited for high-level
control applications like Freevo.

QtGStreamer is a set of libraries and plugins providing C++ bindings for
GStreamer with a Qt4-style API plus some helper classes for integrating
GStreamer better in Qt4 applications.
Currently, it consists of the following parts:
* QtGLib - Library providing C++/Qt bindings for parts of the GLib
and GObject APIs, a base on which QtGStreamer is built.
* QtGStreamer - Library providing C++/Qt bindings for GStreamer
* QtGStreamerUi - Library providing integration with QtGui. Currently,
it only provides a video widget that embeds GStreamer's
video sinks.
In addition, it provides a "qwidgetvideosink" GStreamer element, an video
sink element that can draw directly on QWidgets using QPainter.
QtGStreamer is a set of libraries providing C++ bindings for GStreamer
with a Qt-style API, plus some helper classes and elements for
integrating GStreamer better in Qt applications.
