Serviio is a free DLNA media server. It allows you to stream your
media files (music, video or images) to any DLNA-certified renderer
device (e.g. a TV set, Bluray player, games console) on your home
network.
Serviio uses a priority-based metadata extraction so that you can
choose what metadata should describe your media files (e.g. audio
track name, DVD cover, TV series and episodes names, etc.). These
include metadata embedded into the media files themselves, locally
stored metadata files and metadata that can be obtained online.
With this powerful tool you will be able to build your Serviio media
library easily and effectively.
Serviio works with any DLNA compliant device (TV, Playstation 3,
etc.) and some other (XBox 360). It supports profiles for particular
devices so that it can be tuned to maximise the device's potential
and/or minimize lack of media format playback support (via transcoding).
The cdrtools software includes tools to create and/or extract
ISO-9660 filesystems, verify their integrity, and write them to
disc.
This package contains the following programs:
- btcflash (a firmware flash utility for BTC DRW1008 DVD+/-RW recorder)
- cdda2wav (a digital CD audio extraction program)
- cdrecord (a CD/DVD/BluRay recording program)
- devdump (dump a device or file in hex)
- isodebug (show debug info contained in an ISO-9660 image)
- isodump (dump a device or file based on ISO-9660)
- isoinfo (analyze or list an ISO-9660 image)
- isovfy (verify an ISO-9660 image)
- mkisofs (an ISO-9660 filesystem image creator)
- mkhybrid (an ISO-9660/HFS filesystem image creator)
Link to mkisofs.
- readcd (a data CD reading and recording program)
May be used to write to DVD-RAM and to copy Solaris boot CD's.
- scgcheck (checks and validates the ABI of libscg)
- rscsi (daemon providing access to local SCSI-devices over the network)

relaxconf contains a set of text menu based utilities for configuring RelaxBSD
(a LiveCD system base on FreeBSD),they're also useful for FreeBSD user.
relaxconf: The main menu, allow the following utilities.
relaxsnddetect: Auto detects audio cards (if present) and loads
appropriate modules.
relaxmountdisk: Auto mount other file systems (such as ufs, msdosfs,
ntfs,ext2fs).
relax[u]mountusb: Auto mount/umount USB removable storage.
relaxnetconf: Allow the user to setting network interface such as
ppp(pppoe),ethernet interface.
relaxxconf: Allow the user to generating an xorg.conf file for use
with Xorg(also XFree86).
relaxlangconf: Allow the user to appoint the locale language.
- Only for LiveCD:
relaxsavesetting: Allows user to save preferences in a compressed file.
relaxloadsetting: Auto seek and load preference save file in a partition.

World of Padman (WoP) is an open source first-person shooter computer game
available in both English and German. Originally it was a modification for
the Quake III Arena titled PadMod, created in the year 2004.
After the source code for the Quake III Arena was released, the game became
standalone. The idea is based on the Padman comic strip for the magazine
PlayStation Games, created by the professional cartoon artist Andreas "ENTE"
Endres, who is also the man who made many of the maps included with the game
in 1998.
The current version runs on an enhanced version of the ioquake3 engine, which
is based on the Quake III Arena engine. Most of the maps in the game are
lilliput style, and have a commercial-quality level of graphic complexity.
Because it was originally a mod for Quake III Arena, most of the gameplay is
similar. However, there is no Capture the Flag mode in World of Padman.
World of Padman fully supports bots with a variety of skill levels in both
online and offline play for all of the game types included. A single-player
mode has not yet been implemented. Players can also record audio and video
as they play. The game fully supports modifications, and custom maps can be
created.
JBIG-KIT implements a highly effective data compression algorithm for
bi-level high-resolution images such as fax pages or scanned documents.
This is a portable library of compression and decompression functions
with a documented interface that can be included into your image or
document processing software. Also provided are ready-to-use compression
and decompression programs with a simple command line interface (similar
to the converters found in Jef Poskanzer's PBM conversion package).
JBIG-KIT implements the specification
International Standard ISO/IEC 11544:1993 and ITU-T Recommendation
T.82(1993), "Information technology - Coded representation of picture
and audio information - progressive bi-level image compression",
<http://www.itu.ch/itudoc/itu-t/rec/t/t82_23822.html>,
which is commonly referred to as the "JBIG standard". JBIG (Joint
Bi-level Image experts Group) is the committee which developed this
international standard for the lossless compression of images using
arithmetic coding. Like the well-known compression algorithms JPEG and
MPEG, also JBIG has been developed and published by the International
Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International
Telecommunication Union (ITU) (see also <http://www.iso.ch/> and
<http://www.itu.ch/>).

The idea was to use the high performance Metakine M2Requantiser to
create a transcoder for Linux for shrinking the content of a DVD9.
This would enable backups on cheap single layer DVDRs (double layer
burners weren't even available that time).
Vamps builds a wrapper around the requantizer to extract the
elementary MPEG2 video stream from the DVD's program stream, feed
it through the requantizer and finally re-pack it into the program
stream again. Besides this, Vamps allows the selection of both audio
and subtitle streams that should be copied into the output stream.
This gives another small gain of disk space, since unwanted streams
may be discarded.
Summed up, Vamps is only a very basic, but nevertheless essential
tool to transcode DVD videos to a smaller size. Vamps does not need
to write temporary data files, which is a major pro. Vamps is very
fast. The downside is, that Vamps is not capable of making DVD
backups on its own.
