This module is intended to make the common uses of Net::FTP a
one-line, no-argument affair. In other words, you have 100%
programming with Net::FTP. With Net::FTP::Common you will have 95%
configuration and 5% programming.
Paraget implements getting a single file in parallel from different mirror
sites.
Given that there are mirror-sites for the file one is downloading, one can
in principle accomplish a much greater bandwidth by downloading from all
the sites in parallel . This is accomplished by dividing the file being
fetched into several pieces, and by getting each piece from a different
server, and then re-assembling them.
If there are enough mirror sites, this partitioning makes it so that the
bottleneck is now placed at the client end, maxing the client's connection.
Paraget is designed to not only do basic n -equal-piece partitioning of a
file and sending requests out to n servers for data, but to also be dynamic
during the downloading process. For example if one server is too slow, and
paraget was done with faster server downloading its piece
Scythia is an simple and portable Ftp client. It does not claim
to be able to replace the biggest (no SSH etc.), but only to
satisfy some persons and to give us a bigger experience in
programming.

There's a black box. You can shoot in and watch, where the shot
leaves the box. In the box, crystals are reflecting the shots.
You have to guess where the crystals are hidden, by watching your
shots.
Black Shades Elite is an action game that is more or less similar
to the original Black Shades "Psychic Bodyguard FPS". Kill anyone
that tries to kill the VIP (the white guy). The psychic part is
seeing blue lines when bad guys line up on the VIP (when the line
is red they are about to shoot). Other powers (slow down, and
visions) are available - press F1 for how to use.
It has a few more user friendly options (in the ~/blackshades.config
file) as well as a help menu. Aside from that the internals have
had some major changes, but there is still a lot more to do. Other
options include 3rd person (which was in the original game, just
disabled). The other change that I enjoy is the lack of a busy loop
- now cpu usage isn't 100% - on any recent system it should be less
than 25%.
Feature and bug reports are encouraged. I'm sure it's buggy. Enjoy.
Bos Wars is a futuristic real time strategy game (RTS). In a RTS game, the
player has to combat his enemies while developing his war economy. Everything
runs in real-time, as opposed to turn-based games where the player always
has to wait for his turn. The trick is to balance the effort put into
building his economy and building an army to defend and attack the enemies.
Bos Wars has a dynamic rate based economy. Energy is produced by power
plants and magma gets pumped from hot spots. Buildings and mobile units
are also built at a continuous rate. Control of larger parts of the map
creates the potential to increase your economy throughput. Holding key
points like roads and passages allow for different strategies.
It is possible to play against human opponents over LAN, internet, or
against the computer. Bos Wars successfully runs under Linux, MS Windows,
BSD, and Mac OS X.
A small puzzle game in which your goal is to remove all tiles from
the table. You are held up by other tiles, gravity walls, and other
things, and you can even redesign the level while playing!
