The Net::XWhois class provides a generic client framework for doing Whois
queries and parsing server response.
One of the more important features of this module is to enable the design of
consistent and predictable interfaces to incompatible whois response formats.
The Whois RFC (954) does not define a template for presenting server data;
consequently there is a large variation in layout styles as well as content
served across servers.
Rsync-bpc is a customized version of rsync that is used as part of BackupPC,
an open source backup system.
The main change to rsync is adding a shim layer that emulates the system calls
for accessing the file system so that rsync can directly read/write files in
BackupPC's format.
Rsync-bpc is fully line-compatible with vanilla rsync, so it can talk to rsync
servers and clients.
Rsync-bpc serves no purpose outside of BackupPC.
Scribe is a server for aggregating log data streamed in real time from a large
number of servers. It is designed to be scalable, extensible without
client-side modification, and robust to failure of the network or any specific
machine.

Vinagre is a VNC Client for the GNOME Desktop. Its features include:
* You can connect to several machines at the same time, we like tabs
* You can keep track of your most used connections, we like favorites
* You can keep track of your recently used connections, we like GtkRecent
* You can browse your network for VNC servers, we like avahi
* You don't need to supply the password on every connection, we like GNOME

The NTLM (Windows NT LAN Manager) authentication scheme is the
authentication algorithm used by Microsoft.
NTLM authentication scheme is used in DCOM and HTTP environment. It is
used to authenticate DCE RPC packets in DCOM. It is also used to
authenticate HTTP packets to MS Web Proxy or MS Web Server.
Currently, it is the authentication scheme Internet Explorer chooses to
authenticate itself to proxies/web servers that supports NTLM.
M2Crypto is the most complete Python wrapper for OpenSSL featuring RSA, DSA, DH,
HMACs, message digests, symmetric ciphers (including AES); SSL functionality to
implement clients and servers; HTTPS extensions to Python's httplib, urllib, and
xmlrpclib; unforgeable HMAC'ing AuthCookies for web session management; FTP/TLS
client and server; S/MIME; ZServerSSL: A HTTPS server for Zope and ZSmime: An
S/MIME messenger for Zope.
Duo provides simple two-factor authentication as a service via:
1. Phone callback
2. SMS-delivered one-time passcodes
3. Duo mobile app to generate one-time passcodes
4. Duo mobile app for smartphone push authentication
5. Duo hardware token to generate one-time passcodes
This package allows an admin (or ordinary user) to quickly add Duo
authentication to any Unix login without setting up secondary user
accounts, directory synchronization, servers, or hardware.
The stunnel program is designed to work as SSL encryption
wrapper between remote client and local (inetd-startable) or
remote server. The concept is that having non-SSL aware dae-
mons running on your system you can easily setup them to
communicate with clients over secure SSL channel.
stunnel can be used to add SSL functionality to commonly
used inetd daemons like POP-2, POP-3 and IMAP servers
without any changes in the programs' code.
Xinetd is a replacement for inetd, the internet services daemon.
Xinetd is not just an inetd replacement. Anybody can use it to
start servers that don't require privileged ports because xinetd
does not require that the services in its configuration file be
listed in /etc/services.
Its configuration file has a different format than inetd's one
and it understands different signals. However the signal-to-action
assignment can be changed.
Gigolo is a frontend to easily manage connections to local and
remote filesystems using GIO/GVfs. It allows you to
quickly connect/mount a remote filesystem and manage bookmarks of such.
It is part of the Xfce Goodies project and the Subversion respository
is hosted on the Xfce servers though it does not have any hard
Xfce dependencies and can be used on other desktop environments as well.
The only hard dependency is GTK2.
