The mpg123.el Emacs-Lisp program is a front-end to mpg123/ogg123 audio player.
You can select and play an mp3 file from the list in your Emacs's buffer with
familiar interface.
Because mpg123.el is an Emacs-Lisp program and is written carefully to
preserve portability, it must run on almost all variant of Emacs, especially
recent one. Here is the list of environment where mpg123.el is reported to be
available. If you find mpg123 running on other platforms than below, please
tell me your environment.

Digit@lway MPIO MP3 player tools
This is a project for using Digitalway/Adtec
digital audio player MPIO (DMG, DMK, DME, ...)
under FreeBSD. It provides a userspace library
and at the moment one tool to access the MPIO
player.
MuSE is an application for the mixing, encoding, and network streaming of
sound. MuSE can simultaneously mix up to 6 encoded audio bitstreams (from
files or network) plus a sound card input signal. The resulting stream can
be played locally on the sound card and/or encoded as an mp3 bitstream sent
to a broadcast server. MuSE offers an intuitive interface to be operated
realtime and can run in "slick" mode from command line.

Musicbox is a simple one-file-at-a-time audio tag editor. It can edit
ID3, Vorbis and FLAC tags via the TagLib library.
Nap is a console Napster client that supports MP3 sharing, search, and
chatting. It now defaults to connecting to the OpenNAP network because
the official Napster.com network has client filters.
nekobee is a DSSI soft synth plugin that emulates the sound of the
TB-303 Bassline. It is not an exact copy; rather than make it "just like
the real thing", the design concentrates on modelling the circuitry and
was adjusted by comparing the sounds achievable with it to those heard
on classic acid house tracks. It includes a switchable square/saw wave
VCO, 24dB/octave VCF, an adjustable decay time for the VCF, a fixed
decay time for the VCA, and an interesting bit of circuitry around the
"Accent" control.
NSPmod is a MOD (Protracker module and some of its extensions) / S3M
(Scream Tracker 3 module) / MTM (Multitracker module) music player.
This program uses a technology called No Signal Processor (NSP), which
enables your PC play MODs without DSP such as Gravis UltraSound (GUS)
GF1.
This program requires VoxWare v2.90 compatible 8bit DAC device.
I, John-Mark Gurney, have added support for output in 16bits. The
volume level is slightly less than the 8bit version though.
This is the home page for the Open Source Audio Library Project. This is a
project designed to implement a world class set of classes in C++ that will
handle all of the audio functions one would like. It is designed to be multi-
platform with UNIX based platforms as the base. This project is still in the
beta code phase and a beta version that will illustrate the power and
flexibility is now available. This version supports the Linux (OSS) audio
device, Solaris Sparc audio device, FreeBSD (OSS) audio device, wav, au, aiff,
aifc, mp3, and numerous other formats. It is important to note that this is
not an application but a C++ library that others can use to create an audio
application or to easily add audio capabilities to an existing application.
