This package contains the set of ukrainian fonts for X11 Release 6.
Copyright (C) 1995 Victor Forsyuk <victor@gu.net>
This set is based on so-called "Cronyx" font set, that was copyrighted
by Cronyx Ltd.: Copyright (C) 1994-1995 Cronyx Ltd.
Under no circumstances is the author responsible for the proper
functioning of this software, nor does the author assume any
responsibility for damages incurred with its use.
This port also creates two aliases for each of the fonts -- for koi8-r
encoding (koi8-u is a superset of koi8-r anyway) and for cronyx foundry.
Some applications (gtk?) look for -cronyx-*- and/or *-koi8-r explicitly,
but there is no reason why this fonts can not be used in those cases.
Lingua::DetectCyrillic. The package detects 7 Cyrillic codings as well as the
language - Russian or Ukrainian. Uses embedded frequency dictionaries; usually
one word is enough for correct detection.
This module translates national characters into similar sounding latin
characters (transliteration). At the moment, Czech, Greek, Latvian, Polish,
Turkish, Russian, Ukrainian alphabets are supported (it covers 99% of needs).
Enca currently can determine 8bit charsets of Belarussian, Czech, Polish,
Russian, Slovak and Ukrainian texts and also some multibyte encodings,
independently on language (provided it's some European language).
This program is especially useful for russian/ukrainian/belarusian users
but however can help those who reads mail from people that uses such
brain-damaged web-mailers as yahoo mail.
Fatigue with xterm when reading mail from mutt? Tired to press "Do Full
reset" every time when terminal becames full of garbage? This program is
for you! It removes unsafe characters from email & makes xterm happy!
Intended to be used with procmail.
Terminus Font is designed for long (8 and more hours per day) work
with computers. Version 4.11 contains 594 characters, covering code
pages ISO8859-1/2/5/9/13/15/16, Windows-1250/1251/1252/1254/1257,
IBM-437/852/855/866, KOI8-R/U/E/F, Bulgarian-MIK, Paratype-PT154/PT254,
Macintosh-Ukrainian and Esperanto, and also the vt100 and xterm
pseudographic characters.
Note: This ports also installed a slanted version of the terminus
font, contributed by "Sascha Blank" <sblank@tiscali.de> which is NOT
in the original release.
In-place converter of text typed in with a wrong keyboard layout. When users
work in multilingual environment (e.g. Russian+English), they sometimes type
in text with wrong keyboard layout. In auto mode XNeur can automatically
detect language of a word user typed, switch keyboard layout and convert the
word from one keyboard layout into another. In manual mode user has ability
to convert last typed word or some selected text using hot keys. The idea of
this utility is similar to Punto Switcher for Windows. For now XNeur support
English, Russian, Ukrainian, Belarusian, French, Romanian, Bulgarian, Czech,
Greek, Estonian, Armenian, Lithuanian, Latvian, Poland, Spanish and Uzbek
languages.
