XOSD displays text on your screen; sounds simple, right? The difference is
that it is unmanaged and shaped, so it appears transparent. This gives the
effect of an on-screen-display, just like on your TV/VCR, etc.

Petri nets are a popular graphical way of modeling concurrent systems such as
communications protocols, multiprocessor computers etc. With Petri nets it is
possible to assess the correctness of systems for example by verifying that
the system cannot deadlock, that there cannot be any buffer overflows etc.
PIPEs main aim is to improve on existing tools available for modeling Petri
Nets. A key design feature is the modular approach adopted for analysis,
enabling new modules to written easily and powerfully, using built-in data
layer methods for standard calculations. Eight analysis modules have been
written (so far) including Invariant Analysis, State-Space Analysis (deadlock,
etc), Simulation Analysis & Classification. PIPE adheres to the latest XML
Petri net standard (PNML). File format for saving and loading Petri-Nets is
also extensible through the use of XSLT, the default being PNML.
Bombono DVD is a DVD authoring program. It is made easy to use and has a
nice and clean GUI (GTK+ based). The main features of Bombono DVD are:
- Excellent MPEG viewer, with timeline and monitor
- Real WYSIWYG menu editor with live thumbnails
- Comfortable drag-n-drop support
- Can author to a folder, make ISO image, or burn directly to DVD
- Reauthoring: can import video from DVD discs
Camserv is a free program to do streaming video through the web
Streaming video can be sent to both Netscape and Internet Explorer clients.
However, Internet Explorer under Windows cannot apparently handle
the multi-part JPEGs, and therefore a special javascript page must be setup.
One is included in the distribution as an example.
Currently, the only supported BSD device is the bktr driver.
Both tunable modes and camera inputs are supported.
DeVeDe is a program to create video DVDs and CDs (VCD, sVCD or CVD),
suitables for home players, from any number of video files, in any of
the formats supported by Mplayer. The big advantage over other utilites
is that it only needs Mplayer, Mencoder, DVDAuthor, VCDImager and
MKisofs (well, and Python 2.4, PyGTK and PyGlade), so its dependencies
are really small.
This is the distribution of "dtv", a program which interfaces with
tv-capture and audio cards and can generate a capture file and/or operate
in a client/server environment. It consists of a single program, dtv,
which can act as both client and server.
dv2jpg converts a Type-2 DV codec-encoded AVI stream (from dvgrab, for example)
to an mjpeg-encoded AVI stream that can be processed by the mjpeg tools
package. The mjpeg AVI can be converted to mpeg video/audio and burned onto a
VCD later.
dvdauthor is a program that will generate a DVD movie from a valid
mpeg2 stream that should play when you put it in a DVD player.
The dvdid project provides a library and executable for calculating dvdids,
as returned by Windows' IDvdInfo2::GetDiscID() method. It is available as
source code, which should compile on Windows and any POSIX compliant platform.
