The ProFTPd mod_geoip module uses the GeoIP library from MaxMind to look up
various geographic information for a connecting client.
puf is a download tool for UNIX-like systems. You may use it to
download single files or to mirror entire servers. It is similar to
GNU wget (and has a partly compatible command line), but has the
ability to do many downloads in parallel. This is very interesting,
if you have a high-bandwidth internet connection.
PureAdmin is a graphical tool used to make the management of PureFTPd a little
easier. It uses the GTK+2.x widgets for its GUI and thus are not dependent on
a specific desktop environment such as GNOME or KDE. It is, however, designed
with the GNOME Human Interface Guidelines in mind so it should integrate
nicely with at least GNOME.
Python module interface to the cURL library which is
a tool for transferring files with URL syntax, supporting
many protocols.
TFTPy is a Pure Python TFTP Implementation.
Curb (probably CUrl-RuBy or something) provides Ruby-language
bindings for libcurl, a fully-featured client-side URL
transfer library.
tftp-hpa is portable, BSD derived tftp server. It supports advanced
options such as blksize, blksize2, tsize, timeout, and utimeout.
It also supported rulebased security options.
UrlGfe is a download manager.

wmget is a dock app for the GNU Window Maker window manager which makes it more
convenient to perform long downloads in the background.
This is useful if you tend to have dozens of windows open at a time and tend to
do a lot of routine downloading. Just copy the link from your browser, middle-
click on the wmget dockapp, and the download will start. No download windows or
terminals required, and you can monitor the progress and stop the transfer if
desired without opening or raising any windows or even changing desktops.
