Action Mailer is framework for designing email-service layers. These layers
are used to consolidate code for sending out forgotten passwords, welcoming
wishes on signup, invoices for billing, and any other use case that requires
a written notification to either a person or another system.
Additionally, an Action Mailer class can be used to process incoming email,
such as allowing a weblog to accept new posts from an email (which could even
have been sent from a phone)

spamdyke is a filter for monitoring and intercepting SMTP
connections between a remote host and a qmail server. Spam
is blocked while the remote server (spammer) is still
connected; no additional processing or storage is needed.
In addition to all of its anti-spam filters, spamdyke also
includes a number of features to enhance qmail.
Best of all, using spamdyke does not require patching or
recompiling qmail!
vbsfilter will rename VBS and SHS attachments to .txt,
thus rendering them harmless.
Sendmail 8.10 introduced a new feature called the milter library,
which provides filtering callbacks to a user-level program, which in
turn can provide a "Yes"/"No"/"I haven't seen enough yet" answer to
the question: Can sendmail allow this mail to be delivered?
