GEGL (Generic Graphics Library) is a graph based image processing framework. GEGL provides infrastructure to do demand based cached non destructive image editing on larger than RAM buffers. Through babl it provides support for a wide range of color models and pixel storage formats for input and output. This port is a development snapshot until gegl 0.3.0 is released.

Gnofract 4D is a free, open source program which allows anyone to create beautiful images called fractals. The images are automatically created by the computer based on mathematical principles. These include the Mandelbrot and Julia sets and many more. You don't need to do any math: you can explore a universe of images just using a mouse.

KLatexFormula is a Qt 4 program to easily get an image from a LaTeX formula. Just enter a formula, click "Evaluate", then you can drag & drop or copy the resulting image to another location (an OpenOffice document, for example) or save it as an image (many formats are available).

Aeskulap is a medical image viewer. It is able to load a series of special images stored in the DICOM format for review. Additionally Aeskulap is able to query and fetch DICOM images from archive nodes (also called PACS) over the network. The goal of this project is to create a full open source replacement for commercially available DICOM viewers.

Skanlite is a simple image scanning application that does nothing more than scan and save images. Skanlite can open a save dialog for every image scanned or save the images immediately in a specified directory with auto-generated names and format. The user can also choose to show the scanned image before saving.

GrafX2 is a bitmap paint program inspired by the Amiga programs Deluxe Paint and Brilliance. Specialized in 256-color drawing, it includes a very large number of tools and effects that make it particularly suitable for pixel art, game graphics, and generally any detailed graphics painted with a mouse.

There is a particular emphasis on formats and functionality used in professional, large-scale animation and visual effects work for film. OpenImageIO is used extensively in animation and VFX studios all over the world, and is also incorporated into several commercial products.

cairocffi cairocffi is a CFFI-based drop-in replacement for Pycairo, a set of Python bindings and object-oriented API for cairo. Cairo is a 2D vector graphics library with support for multiple backends including image buffers, PNG, PostScript, PDF, and SVG file output.
