GtkRadiant is a level design program developed by id Software and Loki Software. It is used to create maps for a number of computer games. GtkRadiant originated as Q3Radiant, the Quake III Arena level design tool, which was a Windows-only application. Two major things are different in GtkRadiant: it is based on the GTK+ toolkit, so it also works in Linux and Mac OS X, and it's also game engine-independent, with functionality for new games added as game packs. GtkRadiant is an Open Source application. Source code is publicly available from id Software's Subversion repository and new additions to the code are covered under open source licenses. The core Q3Radiant code, however, was originally under id Software's proprietary license. The license for both the editor and toolset (notably Q3Map2, the BSP compiler) was changed in February 2006, and publicly released under the GPL on February 17. More up-to-date fork, NetRadiant, is available as `games/netradiant' port.

This is the core pack for RetroArch. Mostly these cores are intended for playing/interpreting the retrogames. They are for the most part distributed by the Libretro organization, and are usually licensed under GPL.

Inform7 for FreeBSD is a CLI implementation of the Inform 7 programming language and environment by Graham Nelson. Inform is a design system for interactive fiction (IF) based on natural language.

Freeciv is a free turn-based multiplayer strategy game, in which each player becomes the leader of a civilization, fighting to obtain the ultimate goal: to become the greatest civilization. Players of the Civilization series by Microprose should feel at home, since one aim of Freeciv is to have optional modes (called rulesets) with compatible rules. Freeciv is maintained by an international team of coders and enthusiasts, and is easily one of the most fun and addictive network games out there! Urban Terror is a realism based total conversion mod for Quake III Arena which no longer requires this game to be played. It only uses its engine, which is open sourced through the GPL and may be distributed freely. Urban Terror plays in about the same setting as Counter Strike, but is less focused on realism and plays much faster, which among other things, is caused by the ability to strafe jump, which combined with wall jumping can lead to very quick movement and nice jumps. Urban Terror has 7 game modes, 25 maps and 15 weapons. This port installs a modified ioquake3 engine for Urban Terror called ioUrbanTerror, and depends on the data, resulting in a playable game.

Jin is an open source, cross platform, graphical client (interface) for chess servers. It currently supports these servers: * The Internet Chess Club (aka ICC) * The Free Internet Chess Server (aka FICS) A short list of Jin's main features: * Graphical chess board with many board patterns and piece sets to choose from. We are developing a sophisticated, open simulation framework that can be expanded and improved upon by anyone interested in contributing. There are many exciting possibilities for an open, free flight sim. We hope that this project will be interesting and useful to many people in many areas.

Doom 3 is a sci-fi horror first-person shooter computer game developed by id Software and published by Activision. Set in 2145 in the Union Aerospace Corporation (UAC) research center on Mars, it is a reimagining of the original Doom, with completely new graphics and game engine.
