some aspects of SmartyPants. Markdown is a text-to-HTML
conversion language for web writers, inspired by the format
of plain-text e-mail messages. Markdown allows you to write
in an easy-to-read, easy-to-write plain text format, then
convert it to structurally valid XHTML (or HTML).

txt2html is a Perl program that converts plain text to HTML using
the included HTML::TextToHTML module.

Using the program xlHtml, you can extract the content of a file generated
by Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint and express its content using HTML or tabs
separated text.
