Library for geographic projections
GeographicLib is a small set of C++ classes for performing conversions between geographic, UTM, UPS, MGRS, geocentric, and local cartesian coordinates, for gravity (e.g., EGM2008), geoid height, and geomagnetic field (e.g., WMM2010) calculations, and for solving geodesic problems. The library may be used from .NET applications using the NETGeographicLib wrapper library. It is a suitable replacement for the core functionality provided by geotrans.

Set the root window to the image of earth
Xearth sets the X root window to an image of the Earth, as seen from your favorite vantage point in space, correctly shaded for the current position of the Sun. By default, xearth updates the displayed image every five minutes. The time between updates can be changed with the -wait option. Xearth can also render directly into PPM and GIF files instead of drawing in the root window. There are three additional marker files installed in /usr/local/lib/X11/xearth which specify the locations of various FreeBSD people and places: freebsd.committers.markers - FreeBSD committers freebsd.submitters.markers - FreeBSD submitters freebsd.ftp.markers - FreeBSD FTP mirrors
astro/gpsd-3.14 (Score: 0.0012383816)
Daemon that monitors one or more GPSes attached to a host computer
gpsd is a service daemon that monitors one or more GPSes attached to a host computer through serial or USB ports, making all data on the location/course/velocity of the sensors available to be queried on TCP port 2947 of the host computer. With gpsd, multiple GPS client applications (such as navigational and wardriving software) can share access to GPSes without contention or loss of data. Also, gpsd responds to queries with a format that is substantially easier to parse than the NMEA 0183 emitted by most GPSes.

GPS navigation system
GpsDrive is a car (bike, ship, plane) GPS navigation system. GpsDrive displays the position provided from a NMEA-capable GPS receiver on a zoomable map. The map file is autoselected depending on the position and preferred scale. Speech output is supported if the "festival" software is running. Waypoint database is supported via MySQL (optional).
