libfolks is a library that aggregates people from multiple sources (eg, Telepathy connection managers and eventually evolution data server, Facebook, etc.) to create metacontacts. It's written in Vala (in part to evaluate Vala). The initial goal is for GObject/C support, though the Vala bindings should basically automatic.

Psi is a client for the Jabber system. Written in C++ and based on the Qt library, there are versions available for Linux, FreeBSD (and other flavors of Unix/X11), Microsoft Windows, and Apple MacOS X. It does not require KDE to run.

check_pf is a plugin intended for use with the Nagios network monitoring system. This plugin checks the status of PF, the OpenBSD packet filter, and compares the current state count to given or default thresholds, returning the result. It is written in C.

collectd is a small daemon written in C for performance. It reads various system & network statistics along with updating output RRD or CSV files. The daemon is very fast and allows for frequent polling of values, with support for polling as frequent as every 10 seconds.

Whatmask is a small C program that will help you with network settings. Alarm Pinger (apinger) is a little tool which monitors various IP devices by simple ICMP echo requests. Unlike most Perl or shell script tools, it does not spawn processes or use much CPU time, and is ideal for when one wants continuous monitoring and fast response upon target failure. It is written in C and supports both IPv4 and IPv6.

Previous versions of this module attempted to provide a Perl interface layer similar to the C interface of CUPS. This was fine for power users, but most people were not looking for this type of interface. This module has now been converted to use an object oriented paradigm to facilitate quicker development and ease of use.

The ECMWF GRIB API is an application program interface accessible from C, FORTRAN and Python programs developed for encoding and decoding WMO FM-92 GRIB edition 1 and edition 2 messages. A useful set of command line tools is also provided to give quick access to GRIB messages.

This is not C-code interface (like `Digest::MD5') but a Perl-only implementation of MD4 (like `Digest::Perl::MD5'). Because of this, it is slow but avoids platform specific complications. For efficiency you should use `Digest::MD4' instead of this module if it is available.

py-pf is a pure-Python module for managing OpenBSD's Packet Filter. It aims to combine the flexibility of PF's C API and the power of Python, making it easier to manage PF data and to integrate firewalling capabilities in more complex applications.
