Replacement for getopt(1) that supports GNU-style long options
Rewrite of getopt(1) with the following features: * It can do anything that the GNU getopt(3) routines can do. * It can cope with spaces and shell metacharacters within arguments. * It can parse long parameters. * It can shuffle parameters, so you can mix options and other parameters on the command-line. * It can be easily identified as an enhanced getopt(1) from within shell scripts. * It can report parse errors as coming from the shell script. * It compiles cleanly with both libc-5 and glibc-2.

Useful for placing into /etc/issue or your bash prompt, so that you don't send stupid commands to the wrong machine.

Text progressbar library for python
This library provides a text mode progressbar. This is typically used to display the progress of a long running operation, providing a visual clue that processing is underway. The ProgressBar class manages the progress, and the format of the line is given by a number of widgets. A widget is an object that may display diferently depending on the state of the progress. There are three types of widget: - a string, which always shows itself; - a ProgressBarWidget, which may return a diferent value every time it's update method is called; and - a ProgressBarWidgetHFill, which is like ProgressBarWidget, except it expands to fill the remaining width of the line.
