Gnome Chemistry Utils provide C++ classes and Gtk+-2 widgets related
to chemistry. It also contains these programs:
* GChemPaint: a 2D chemical editor
* a chemical calculator
* a molecular structure viewer (GChem3D)
* a crystal structure viewer and editor (Gnome Crystal)
* a periodic table of the elements
* a Mozilla plugin (which displays only XYZ files at the moment)
* a simple spectrum viewer (GSpectrum)
GetDP is a general finite element solver using mixed elements to discretize
de Rham-type complexes in one, two and three dimensions.
The main feature of GetDP is the closeness between the input data defining
discrete problems (written by the user in ASCII data files) and the symbolic
mathematical expressions of these problems.
Orthanc aims at providing a simple, yet powerful standalone DICOM
server. It is designed to improve the DICOM flows in hospitals and to
support research about the automated analysis of medical images.
Orthanc can turn any computer running Windows, Linux, FreeBSD or OS X
into a DICOM store (in other words, a mini-PACS system). Its
architecture is lightweight and standalone, meaning that no complex
database administration is required, nor the installation of third-party
dependencies.
What makes Orthanc unique is the fact that it provides a RESTful API.
Thanks to this major feature, it is possible to drive Orthanc from any
computer language. The DICOM tags of the stored medical images can be
downloaded in the JSON file format. Furthermore, standard PNG images can
be generated on-the-fly from the DICOM instances by Orthanc.
Orthanc lets its users focus on the content of the DICOM files, hiding
the complexity of the DICOM format and of the DICOM protocol.
HDF5 is a completely new Hierarchical Data Format product consisting of a data
format specification and a supporting library implementation. HDF5 is designed
to address some of the limitations of the older HDF product and to address
current and anticipated requirements of modern systems and applications.
HDF5 includes the following improvements:
- A new file format designed to address some of the deficiencies of HDF4.x,
particularly the need to store larger files and more objects per file.
- A simpler, more comprehensive data model that includes only two basic
structures: a multidimensional array of record structures, and a grouping
structure.
- A simpler, better-engineered library and API, with improved support for
parallel I/O, threads, and other requirements imposed by modern systems
and applications.
JStrack is written by and for people who are in areas that are
prone to hits from tropical systems (currently only in the Tropical
Atlantic). It's intended to display the NHC/TPC data and give you
what you need to make decisions, etc.. It does NOT, nor will it ever,
attempt to do any forecasting on its own---I leave that to the gurus
at the NHC/TPC.
epte is a curses-based periodic table of the elements. It provides a
set of examples of the basic sets of constants and procedures needed
to understand the behavior of matter.
MEI stands for Mathematical Expression Interpreter.
It is intended to provide interpretation of mathematical formula in a string.
Code Saturne is a system designed to solve the Navier-Stokes equations in the
cases of 2D, 2D axisymmetric or 3D flows. Its main module is designed for the
simulation of flows which may be steady or unsteady, laminar or turbulent,
incompressible or potentially dilatable, isothermal or not.
Scalars and turbulent fluctuations of scalars can be taken into account. The
code includes specific modules, referred to as "specific physics", for the
treatment of lagrangian particle tracking, semi-transparent radiative transfer,
gas combustion, pulverised coal combustion, electricity effects (Joule effect
and electric arcs) and compressible flows. The code also includes an engineering
module, Matisse, for the simulation of nuclear waste surface storage.
Code_Saturne relies on a finite volume discretisation and allows the use of
various mesh types which may be hybrid (containing several kinds of elements)
and may have structural non-conformities (hanging nodes).
NCS means "Noyau Code Saturne", i.e. "Code Saturne Kernel". This is the
numerical solver.
Web viewer plugin allows easy serial view of medical images stored in
Orthanc server in a browser, using HTML5 technology.

The plugin replaces the default SQLite engine of Orthanc with a
PostgreSQL back-end.
