vnStat is a console-based network traffic monitor. It keeps a log of hourly, daily and monthly network traffic for the selected interface(s). However, it isn't a packet sniffer. The traffic information is analyzed from the proc(5) filesystem. That way vnStat can be used even without root permissions.

yydecode started life as a decoder for yEnc encoded binaries, which have recently appeared on Usenet. yydecode works almost identically to the infamous uudecode program. Version 0.2.8 and onwards contains a superset of uudecode's functionality, (ie. decodes standard uuencoded files, as well as Base64 [RFC2045] encoded files produced by uuencode) and hence can be used as a drop-in replacement in all circumstances.

pydicom is a pure python package for working with DICOM files. It was made for inspecting and modifying DICOM files in an easy "pythonic" way. The modifications can be written again to a new file. As a pure python package, it should run anywhere python runs without any other requirements.

FakeBO emulates a BackOrifice client (a trojan which can be used to covertly monitor and alter Windows machines remotely), and can log attempted commands and packets, as well as providing configurable responses. Useful for catching script kiddies trying to find a hackable Windows box, for providing evidence to their sysadmin, etc.

GSFV is a graphical interface written in GTK+ for manipulating .sfv (Simple File Verification) files. The Simple File Verification (SFV) system is a file integrity verification system which is popular on some platforms. A software package may be accompanied by an SFV file (usually with extension .sfv) which contains CRC-32 checksums for all the files that comprise the package.

The purpose of Gtkpasman is to provide system and network administrators a convenient tool to manage a passwords knowledge base related to customers, servers, services... It can help to retrieve passwords, or even connect to servers (ssh, telnet, ftp). Passwords must be kept in a gnupg crypted file. The structure of the file is predefined, but very easy to edit and maintain.

KGpg is a simple interface for GnuPG, a powerful encryption utility. With KGpg you will be able to encrypt and decrypt your files and emails, allowing much more secure communications. A mini howto on encryption with gpg is available on gnupg's web site.

Crypt::Rhash module is an object-oriented interface to the LibRHash library, allowing simultaneous calculation of several hash functions for a file or a text message. Resulting hash digest can be obtained in hexadecimal, BASE32, BASE64, raw binary format or as a magnet link.

Radamsa is a generic test case generator for robustness testing, aka a fuzzer. It can be used to test how well a program can stand malformed and potentially malicious inputs. It operates on given sample inputs and thus requires minimal effort to set up.

SSHBlock is a daemon to monitor a syslog log for break-in attempts using SSH, and to automatically block bad hosts by adding lines to /etc/hosts.allow (TCP Wrappers). Several thresholds are pre-defined, to be able to block those trying many attempts within a longer or shorter period.
