Yacas (Yet Another Computer Algebra System) is a small and highly flexible general-purpose computer algebra language. The syntax uses a infix-operator grammar parser. The distribution contains a small library of mathematical functions, but its real strength is in the language in which you can easily write your own symbolic manipulation algorithms. The core engine supports arbitrary precision arithmetic (although it can optionally be linked with the library "libgmp3") and is able to execute symbolic manipulations on various mathematical objects by following user-defined rules.

libfirestring is a string handling library that provides maximum length aware string handling functions to programs. Several functions provide saner interfaces than the standard libc functions. libfirestring also provides functions that are in most libc's but not provided for by ANSI C, enabling programmers to write ANSI C-compliant code while using such safe functions (strcasecmp, strncasecmp, snprintf). libfirestring also includes functions for dealing with reading configuration files in an easy to program fashion. This library uses long long, which is part of the C99 standard (previously a GNU extension). Your compiler needs to support this in order for FireString to work.

HEYU is a text-based console program for remotely controlling lights and appliances in the home or office. It is made available under a free and open source license. Heyu uses the CM11A computer interface to send and receive X10 control signals over the AC power lines to modules which can turn On, Off, or Dim attached lamps or appliances. It can store a schedule of timed events in the CM11A memory for execution when the computer is turned off or disconnected. Heyu now supports an optional W800RF32A or MR26A RF receiver connected to a second port as an auxiliary input device for X10 RF signals. Heyu can also use an optional CM17A interface to transmit X10 RF signals.
