DOSBox is an emulator of a PC with DOS.
The main focus of this project is emulating old DOS games using the
local file system for files.
Currently emulated is:
o CPU:286/386 realmode/pmode
o GFX:VGA/EGS/CGA/SVGA/VESA
o SND:PC-Speaker/Tandy 3-Voice/Adlib/SoundBlaster
o MSC:Keyboard/Mouse
o DOS:Directory FileSystem/XMS/EMS
The doscmd utility emulates a sufficiently large subset of the PC BIOS
to boot older DOS versions and run DOS applications.
The Desktop CYBER Emulator is a project which successfully brought
back to life the revolutionary design of Control Data Corporation
CYBER mainframes. The software provides a reasonable emulation of
a "typical" CDC CYBER 6600, 7x, 17x based system including common
peripherals such as console, tape and disk drives, card reader,
printer and terminal multiplexer. The emulation runs the following
CDC operating systems: ChippewaOS, SMM, KRONOS 2.1, NOS 1.2, NOS
1.3, NOS 1.4, NOS 2.2 and NOS 2.8.2. It does not support NOS/VE
which requires virtual mode only available in CYBER 180s.
Dynagen is a front-end for use with the Dynamips Cisco router
emulator. It uses an INI-like configuration file to provision
Dynamips emulator networks. It takes care of specifying the right
port adapters, generating and matching up those pesky NIO descriptors,
specifying bridges, frame-relay, ATM switches, etc. It also provides
a management CLI for listing devices, suspending and reloading
instances, etc.
Dynagui is a GUI frontend to the dynamips Cisco 7200/36XX router
simulator. It uses the dyna-gen library in order to communicate
with the dynamips hypervisor.
This is a version of UAE, the Ubiquitous Amiga Emulator,
with an emulation core based on WinUAE 0.8.27. It attempts
to bring many of the great features of WinUAE to non-Windows
platforms.
You will require a valid Amiga ROM file in order for this to be useful.
Bochs is a highly portable open source IA-32 (x86) PC emulator written in
C++, that runs on most popular platforms. It includes emulation of the
Intel x86 CPU, common I/O devices, and a custom BIOS. Currently, bochs can
be compiled to emulate a 386, 486, Pentium, Pentium Pro or AMD64 CPU,
including optional MMX, SSE, SSE2 and 3DNow instructions.
Bochs is capable of running most Operating Systems inside the emulation
including Linux, DOS, Windows 95/98 and Windows NT/2000/XP.
Bochs was written by Kevin Lawton and is currently maintained by the Bochs
project.
Bochs can be compiled and used in a variety of modes, some which are still
in development. The 'typical' use of bochs is to provide complete x86 PC
emulation, including the x86 processor, hardware devices, and memory. This
allows you to run OS's and software within the emulator on your workstation,
much like you have a machine inside of a machine. For instance, let's say
your workstation is a Unix/X11 workstation, but you want to run Win'95
applications. Bochs will allow you to run Win 95 and associated software
on your Unix/X11 workstation, displaying a window on your workstation,
simulating a monitor on a PC.
Cisco 1700/2600/3600/3700/7200 simulator.
FCE Ultra is an NTSC and PAL Famicom/NES emulator for various
platforms. It is based upon Bero's original FCE source code. Current
features include good PPU, CPU, pAPU, expansion chip, and joystick
emulation. Also a feature unique to this emulator (at the current time)
is authentic Game Genie emulation. Save states and snapshot features
also have been implemented. The VS Unisystem is emulated as well.
FCE Ultra supports iNES format ROM images, UNIF format ROM images,
headerless and FWNES style FDS disk images, and NSF files.
