PolicyKit is a framework for defining policy for system-wide components and for desktop pieces to configure it. Mate-policyKit is a GTK+/MATE frontend for that framework.

MATE Power Manager is a MATE session daemon that acts as a policy agent on top of HAL (the Hardware Abstraction Layer). MATE Power Manager listens for HAL events and responds with user-configurable reactions. Currently it supports laptop batteries and AC adapters. Its goal is to be architecture neutral and free of polling and other hacks.

mdcp (Muli-Device Copy) is a command-line utility for *nix that provide to copy from a disk device to many. The data transfer rate is improved by making use of a much more efficient use of the transfer rate of the disks.

Memfetch is a simple utility to dump all memory of a running process, either immediately, or when a fault condition is discovered. It is an attractive alternative to the vastly inferior search capabilities of many debuggers and tracers -- and a convenient way to grab "screen shots" from many types of text-based interactive utilities, like ssh or screen sessions.
