Integrit is an alternative to file integrity verification programs
like tripwire and aide. It helps you determine whether an intruder
has modified a computer system.
An automated password generator, using several strong algorithms
for random and/or pronounceable password generation, and a built-in
pseudo-random number generator.
k5start is a modified version of kinit that can use keytabs to authenticate,
can run as a daemon and wake up periodically to refresh a ticket, and can run
single commands with their own authentication credentials and refresh those
credentials until the command exits.
It is commonly used to maintain Kerberos tickets for services that need to
authenticate to minimize the amount of Kerberos-related logic that must be
in the service itself.
The Blowfish Library
Blowfish is a block cipher that operates on 64bit (8 byte) quantities.
It uses variable size key, but 128bit (16 byte) key would normally be
considered good. It can be used in all the modes that DES can be
used. This library implements the ecb, cbc, cfb64, ofb64 modes.
Blowfish is quite a bit faster that DES, and much faster than IDEA
or RC2. It is one of the faster block ciphers.

libfprint is an open source software library designed to make it easy for
application developers to add support for consumer fingerprint readers to
their software.
Although the creator of scrypt has written an "example implementation", it
doesn't satisfy the "simple library" requirement that prompts developers to
implement it. Therefore, I've written my adaptation, which quite simply pulls
the relevant parts from the original implementation, then adds a number of
harnesses and simplified interfaces. The hope is that through this, any
developer can utilise scrypt.
libgnomesu is a library for providing superuser privileges to GNOME
applications. It supports consolehelper, PAM and su.
libgnomesu will use one the following services (in order of priority),
depending on which one is available:
- consolehelper
- PAM
- su
libgnomesu will use the su-based backend as final fallback, if no other
services are available. This service uses a backend which is a modified
version of GNU su.
libgnomesu comes with the GUI frontend 'gnomesu' and a Nautilus component
for Nautilus integration.
libtasn1 library was developed for ASN1 (Abstract Syntax Notation One)
structures management.
The main features of this library are:
- on-line ASN1 structure management that does not require any C code
file generation;
- off-line ASN1 structure management with C code file generation
containing an array;
- DER (Distinguish Encoding Rules) encoding;
- no limits for INTEGER and ENUMERATED values
This is a very small Elliptic Curve Cryptography library.
Lynis is an auditing tool for Unix (specialists). It scans the
system and available software, to detect security issues. Beside
security related information it will also scan for general system
information, installed packages and configuration mistakes.
This software aims in assisting automated auditing, software patch
management, vulnerability and malware scanning of Unix based systems.
It can be run without prior installation, so inclusion on read only
storage is no problem (USB stick, cd/dvd).
