This library is designed to support supervisory tone generation and detection
for all parts of the world.
LifeLines is an advanced genealogical system. You can store any kind
and any amount of data in a LifeLines database, and you can process
and generate output based on that data in any way and in any format.
LifeLines supports GEDCOM; it imports and exports GEDCOM data.
LifeLines has a unique approach to report generation. LifeLines has
no built-in reports. Instead all reports are generated using report
programs that are written in a report programming language.
Because of its flexibility and programmability, LifeLines is frequently
used for genealogy applications on the World Wide Web.
LinM is a Linux clone of famous MS-DOS file manager Mdir, popular in
Korea. It inherits keyboard shortcuts and screen layout from Mdir in
order to maximize user-friendliness, and supports FTP, SFTP, and SMB
protocols.
GNU Midnight Commander is a user-friendly yet powerful file manager
and visual shell, useful to novice and guru alike. It provides a
clear, user-friendly, and somewhat protected interface to a Unix
system while making many frequent file operations more efficient and
preserving the full power of the command prompt. You will wonder how
you could ever live without it.
This implementation of the Unix write program adds many nice features
while remaining close to the standard Unix program in spirit. It has been
heavily used on M-Net since 1985 and on Grex since 1991, as well as a few
other systems. It is a ground-up reimplementation using no proprietary
code. It's available under a Berkeley-style license (no charge, no
restriction on commercial use, just don't take my name off of it). The
current version is fairly portable.
Orville write was written for use on M-Net and Grex, both public access
Unix systems in Ann Arbor. As such, many of the features are designed to
support a system featuring a delicate mix of novice users and hostile
pranksters, plus a lot of people who just want to talk. It's user
interface is pretty much identical to the normal write program, but it
offers many extensions and improvements.
On Dir is a program that automatically executes scripts as you traverse
directories at a terminal.
In addition to executing scripts in the directory you are entering or leaving,
ondir also executes scripts in directories that are traversed on the way to that
directory.
CAVE (Character Animation Viewer for Everyone) is an ascii animation viewer.
It uses (n)curses for its interface so you'll need to have those libraries
installed.
CHMLIB is a library for dealing with Microsoft ITSS/CHM format files. Right
now, it is a very simple library, but sufficient for dealing with all of the
.chm files I've come across. Due to the fairly well-designed indexing built
into this particular file format, even a small library is able to gain
reasonably good performance indexing into ITSS archives.
