This port contains two phone number conversion utilities:
1. numchar - converts a phone number to all possible combinations
of digits and characters;
2. phdecode - decodes a phone number containing characters into
one containing only digits.

There exist a few filters that help tapes streams by buffering IO and
allowing reads to overlaps with writes under Unix. Most of these filters
rely on relatively unportable features, for example SYSV like shared
memory.
team is a filter that runs essentially unchanged on any Unix version, as
it relies only on features present in V7. A number of team processes
(team members) share a common input fd and a common output fd, and they
take turns at reading from the former and writing to the latter; they
synchronize by using a ring of pipes between them, where a "read-enable"
and a "write-enable" token circulate.
The team source is GPL'ed, and it comes with no warranty.
The freedesktop.org project provides a shared MIME database to avoid
inconsistencies between desktops. This database has been created by
converting the existing KDE and GNOME databases to a common format and
merging them together.
Uptime Client is a little program that keeps track of your uptime and
sends it to a server where you can compare it to many other hosts and
browse through various statistical information.
Xdelta is a tool and library for differential compression. Xdelta
release version 3 supports VCDIFF encoding and decoding. This is a BETA
release, but almost stable. Supports compressing 64 bit files on
Windows, *nux, etc.
Xiphos (formerly known as GnomeSword) is a Bible study tool written
with the GNOME toolkit, offering a rich and featureful environment
for reading, study, and research using modules from The SWORD Project
and elsewhere.
GMiMMS is a GTK+ frontend for MiMMS, a multimedia-stream ripper.
So it is easy to enter the MMS-URL and the output file. You can
also record live-streams by setting the recording length in GMiMMS.
gdvrecv is a set of tools for FreeBSD 5 to receives audio and video data from a
digital camcorder via an IEEE 1394 (widely known as FireWire) link and stores
them into an DV file.
The Video4Linux library is a wrapper library for accessing Video4Linux
compliant video devices. It allows for transcoding of capture streams
in user space instead of kernel space and creates a standard interface
mechanism for video devices.
