TAP-plugins is short for Tom's Audio Processing plugins.
It is a bunch of LADSPA plugins for digital audio processing.
[ From the WorkMan README ]
WorkMan is a graphical tool for playing audio compact discs on a CD-ROM
drive. It has most of the features available on standalone CD players,
such as a shuffle mode, programmable playlists, and elapsed/remaining
timers. But it also has extra features, foremost of which is the ability
to store information about CDs in a database, then automatically extract
that information when the CD is inserted later. WorkMan stores the
artist's name, the disc title, the names of individual tracks, and even
remembers which tracks you don't want to hear! All in an easy-to-use,
attractive OPEN LOOK graphical interface.
XMMS2-Scrobbler is a client for XMMS2 that feeds information about the songs
you played to last.fm, formerly known as AudioScrobbler.
The Extended Module Player, or xmp, is a portable command-line module player
supports over 80 mainstream and obscure module formats from Amiga, Atari,
Acorn, Apple IIgs and PC.
This is an XMMS input plugin for playing Nintendo(TM) 8bit NSF audio files.
The module has a special panel for selecting multi track .nsf files.
xmms-wavpack is a plugin for the multimedia player XMMS that plays
audio files in the WavPack format, which supports lossless and lossy
compression.
This integer benchmark solves positions in the game of connect-4,
as played on a vertical 7x6 board. This takes about 10 minutes
on contemporary PCs.
glmark2 is a benchmark for OpenGL (ES) 2.0. It uses only the subset of the
OpenGL 2.0 API that is compatible with OpenGL ES 2.0.
SysBench is a modular, cross-platform and multi-threaded benchmark tool
for evaluating OS parameters that are important for a system running a
database under intensive load.
The idea of this benchmark suite is to quickly get an impression about
system performance without setting up complex database benchmarks or
even without installing a database at all.
Current features allow to test the following system parameters:
* file I/O performance
* scheduler performance
* memory allocation and transfer speed
* POSIX threads implementation performance
* database server performance (OLTP benchmark)
Primarily written for MySQL server benchmarking, SysBench will be
further extended to support multiple database backends, distributed
benchmarks and third-party plug-in modules.
BLAT is a bioinformatics software tool which performs rapid mRNA/DNA and
cross-species protein alignments. BLAT is more accurate and 500 times
faster than popular existing tools for mRNA/DNA alignments and 50 times
faster for protein alignments at sensitivity settings typically used
when comparing vertebrate sequences. (Source: Kent, W.J. 2002. BLAT --
The BLAST-Like Alignment Tool. Genome Research 4: 656-664.
http://dx.doi.org/10.1101/gr.229202)
BLAT is not BLAST. DNA BLAT works by keeping an index of the entire
genome (but not the genome itself) in memory. Since the index takes up a
bit less than a gigabyte of RAM, BLAT can deliver high performance on a
reasonably priced Linux box.
