Edinburgh-style Prolog compiler including modules, autoload,
libraries, Garbage-collector, stack-expandor, C-interface,
GNU-readline and GNU-Emacs interface, very fast compiler.
tolua++ is an extended version of tolua, a tool to integrate C/C++ code
with Lua. tolua++ includes new features oriented to c++ such as:
* Support for std::string as a basic type (this can be turned off by a
command line option).
* Support for class templates
As well as other features and bugfixes.
tolua is a tool that greatly simplifies the integration of C/C++ code with
Lua. Based on a cleaned header file (or extracts from real header files),
tolua automatically generates the binding code to access C/C++ features
from Lua. Using Lua API and tag method facilities, tolua maps C/C++
constants, external variables, functions, classes, and methods to Lua.
Vala is a new programming language that aims to bring modern programming
language features to GNOME developers without imposing any additional
runtime requirements and without using a different ABI compared to
applications and libraries written in C.
valac, the Vala compiler, is a self-hosting compiler that translates
Vala source code into C source and header files. It uses the GObject
type system to create classes and interfaces declared in the Vala source
code. It's also planned to generate GIDL files when gobject-
introspection is ready.
Balsa is a mail reader for the GNOME Desktop. It supports many features:

* Allows nested mailboxes
* Support for POP3 and IMAP mail access protocols
* Printing
* Spell Checking
* Multi-threaded mail retrevial (optional)
* MIME support (view images inline, save parts)
* Supports SMTP and/or use of local MTA, ie. Sendmail

Archmbox is a simple email archiver written in Perl; it parses one or more
mailboxes, selects some or all messages and then performs specific actions
on the selected messages. Archmbox supports mbox and mbx mailbox formats.
Four different modes are available:
- List mode, which is useful to list all selected messages before
archmbox performs the real operations (archiving or deleting)
- Kill mode, if messages should be deleted from the mailbox(es) rather
than archived
- Archive mode, to archive the selected messages in a different mailbox
- Copy mode, to copy the selected messages from the source mailbox
Messages selection is based upon a date criteria; an absolute date or days
offset can be specified. It is also possible to refine the selection using
regular expressions on the header fields of the message.
All archived messages are stored in a new mailbox with the same name of the
original one plus .archived as extension (this is the default, but can be
changed); the archive mailbox can be saved in gz or bz2 compressed format
as well.
akpop3d is a POP3 daemon aimed to be small and secure. Despite its small size,
it offers a lot of features. It is completely RFC 1939 compliant.
Alpine is a screen-oriented message-handling tool for news, and POP, IMAP,
and local e-mail. In its default configuration it offers a limited set of
functions geared toward the novice user, but it also has a large list of
optional "power-user" and personal-preference features.
Alpine's basic feature set includes:
* View, Save, Export, Delete, Print, Reply and Forward messages.
Compose messages in a simple editor with word-wrap and a
spelling checker. Messages may be postponed for later completion.
* Selection and management of message folders.
* Address book to keep a list of long or frequently-used
addresses. Personal distribution lists may be defined.
Addresses may be taken into the address book from incoming mail
without retyping them.
* New mail checking/notification occurs automatically (configurable).
* On-line, context-sensitive help screens.
Alpine supports MIME (Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions), an Internet
Standard for representing multipart and multimedia data in email.
bmf is an extremely efficient Bayesian mail filter based on
Paul Graham's article, "A Plan for Spam." It's fast, small,
efficient, and more versatile than other Bayesian filters.
Convert a single mailbox from Cyrus-Imap into the Maildir++ format used by the
Courier-IMAP and Dovecot IMAP servers.
sgwi is a web interface to SQLGrey written in PHP.
It allows you to edit the white- and blacklists as
well as the current state of the greylist.
