A roguelike game derived from Moria, based loosely on the books of J.R.R.
Tolkien. The ultimate aim of the game is to advance in skill and strength,
collecting better and more powerful magical items until you are ready to face
the Master of the dungeon: Morgoth himself! Your character, the dungeon, and
all the monsters are represented on the screen using ASCII characters. Game
also provides graphical tiles mode.
KLines is a simple but highly addictive one player game. The player
has to move the colored balls around the game board, gathering them
into the lines of the same color by five. Once the line is complete
it is removed from the board, therefore freeing precious space. In
the same time the new balls keep arriving by three after each move,
filling up the game board.
This module was created as an alternative for Algorithm::Pair::Best, which
probably offers more control over the pairings, in particular regarding
ensuring the highest overal quality of pairings. Algorithm::Pair::Swiss is
sort of dumb in this regard, but uses a slightly more intuitive interface
and an algorithm that should perform noticably faster. The module was
primarily designed based on the Swiss rounds system used for Magic: The
Gathering tournaments.
Sauerbraten is multiplayer/singleplayer FPS game freeware game project, and
soon an RPG game project. Sauerbraten is an experimental engine based on
Cube, can be seen as "Next-Gen Cube", or "Cube 2". Much like cube, the aim
of this engine is not to produce the most eyecandy possible, but rather allow
map/geometry editing to be done dynamically in-game, and make map editing a
lot of fun.
Tetris meets Pong, with more twists than a contortionist club's
secret handshake. Sometimes, the total is greater than the sum of the parts.
Tetris and Pong are classics, addictive and unshakable from their places in
gaming history. TONG is the result of mixing the two, capitalizing on the
essential qualities of each classic and adding new twists of its own to make
an explosive chemical reaction out of it all.
Was the first visible part of The Python Game Book project.
TuxFighter is a little Asteroids-like Shooter game, written around 2006.
The game support modding. You control Tux, the penguin (with mouse or keyboard)
and shoot down rectangular enemies (to make points).
Shots may reflect from the screen border, and self-shooting result
in negative points.
In the game, you can pick up one of those power-up's and enjoy
different effects.
Ur-Quan Masters is a port of the original Star Control 2 for 3DO Consoles.
The project started in August 2002, when Toys For Bob released the partially
ported sources of Star Control 2 3DO version to the fan community. Our goal
is to port this wonderful game to current personal computers and operating
systems. It is and will remain 100% free of charge, and anyone can contribute
to the project and thus help make it even better.
In this game the player should help a girl by name of Violet to
struggle with hordes of monsters. For this purpose the various
weapon, and also the special abilities of the heroine which are
opening with experience can be used. In game there are elements of
RPG in the form of strength-agility-vitality and derivatives. Also
there is an unique feature: dynamic change of day and night.
Widelands is an open source real-time strategy game inspired by Bluebyte's
Settlers II (TM). You are the chieftain of a small tribe. To grow your kingdom,
you must secure resources, construct new buildings, train soldiers and wage
war against your opponents.
The game is playable and great fun already, but it is also still under heavy
development, so do not be surprised if it crashes on you.
XBlast is a multi-player arcade game for X11. The game
can be played with at least two players and up to six
players. It was inspired by the video/computer game
Bomberman(Dynablaster), which was to my knowledge first
programmed for NEC's PC Engine/Turbo Grafx. Other (com-
mercial) versions of the original game exist for IBM-PC,
Atari ST, Amiga, NES, GameBoy and Super NES.
