phpWebApp is an application framework which makes easy and simple the task of
building PHP web applications based on relational databases. It separates the
task of designing and changing the layout of the application from the task of
implementing the logic of the application, by using XML templates that are an
extension of XHTML. It also simplifies the task of implementing the logic of
the application by offering an event based programming model. In addition,
phpWebApp tries to offer modularity and code reusability to the community of
webApp developers.
Planet is a flexible feed aggregator, this means that it downloads feeds
and aggregates their content together into a single combined feed with
the latest news first.
It uses Mark Pilgrim's Ultra-liberal feed parser so can read from RDF, RSS
and Atom feeds and Tomas Styblo's template library to output static files
in unlimited formats based on a series of templates.
Planet was written for the Planet Debian and Planet GNOME websites by
Scott James Remnant <scott@netsplit.com> and
Jeff Waugh <jdub@perkypants.org>. It was originally based on 'spycyroll'.
Django is a high-level Python Web framework that encourages rapid development
and clean, pragmatic design.
Developed and used over the past two years by a fast-moving online-news
operation, Django was designed from scratch to handle two challenges: the
intensive deadlines of a newsroom and the stringent requirements of experienced
Web developers. It has convenient niceties for developing content-management
systems, but it's an excellent tool for building any Web site.
PunBB is a fast and lightweight PHP-powered discussion board. It is
released under the GNU General Public License. Its primary goals are
to be faster, smaller and less graphically intensive as compared to
other discussion boards. PunBB has fewer features than many other
discussion boards, but is generally faster and outputs smaller,
semantically correct XHTML-compliant pages.
The Plone Content Management System (core).
Beaker is built on code from the package MyghtyUtils, originally used
in the Myghty project. It implements a full set of cache functionality
along with sessions that can utilize the caches.
Beaker includes Cache and Session WSGI middleware to ease integration
with WSGI capable frameworks, and is automatically used by Pylons.
Features
* Fast, robust performance
* Multiple reader/single writer lock system to avoid duplicate
simultaneous cache creation
* Cache back-ends include dbm, file, memory, memcached, and
database (Using SQLAlchemy for multiple-db vendor support)
* Signed cookie's to prevent session hijacking/spoofing
* Extensible Container object to support new back-ends
* Cache's can be divided into namespaces (to represent templates,
objects, etc.) then keyed for different copies
* Create functions for automatic call-backs to create new cache
copies after expiration
* Fine-grained toggling of back-ends, keys, and expiration per
Cache object
bottle-cork provides a simple set of methods to implement Authentication
and Authorization in web applications based on Bottle.
CherryPy is a pythonic, object-oriented web development framework.
CherryPy allows developers to build web applications in much the same
way they would build any other object-oriented Python program.
This usually results in smaller source code developed in less time.
CherryPy is now more than three years old and it is has proven very
fast and stable. It is being used in production by many sites, from
the simplest ones to the most demanding ones.
This port allows you to use Linux plugins such as Adobe Flash and Acrobat
Reader in the native version of Opera for FreeBSD.
Yii is a high-performance component-based PHP framework best for
developing large-scale Web applications. Yii comes with a full stack
of features, including MVC, DAO/ActiveRecord, I18N/L10N, caching,
jQuery-based AJAX support, authentication and role-based access control,
scaffolding, input validation, widgets, events, theming, Web services,
and so on. Written in strict OOP, Yii is easy to use and is extremely
flexible and extensible.
