OpenVanilla (OV) is an input method (IM)/output filter (OF) framework
designed for better end-user text processing experiences. For example,
OpenVanilla provides a comprehensive set of Traditional Chinese input
methods that are lacking or of which counterparts are functionally
deficient/unsatisfactory in Apple's Mac OS X. Many Simplified Chinese
users also find this framework useful. A Tibetan IM module is also
available.
OpenVanilla framework is a set of header files for OpenVanilla module
development.
The POI project consists of APIs for manipulating various file formats based
upon Microsoft's OLE 2 Compound Document format using pure Java. In short, you
can read and write MS Excel files using Java. Soon, you'll be able to read and
write Word files using Java. POI is your Java Excel solution as well as your
Word Excel solution. However, we have a complete API for porting other OLE 2
Compound Document formats and welcome others to participate.
Apertium is an open-source machine translation platform, initially aimed
at related-language pairs but recently expanded to deal with more
divergent language pairs (such as English-Catalan). The platform
provides:
1. a language-independent machine translation engine
2. tools to manage the linguistic data necessary to build a machine
translation system for a given language pair and
3. linguistic data for a growing number of language pairs
ArCHMage is the extensible reader/decompiler of files in CHM format(Microsoft
HTML help, also known as Compiled HTML). ArCHMage is based on chmlib by Jed
Wing and is written on python.
AsciiDoc is a text document format for writing short documents, articles, books
and UNIX man pages. AsciiDoc files can be translated to HTML and DocBook markups
using the asciidoc(1) command.
A Perl 5 module for reading in, manipulating, and outputting
bibliographic records in the USMARC format. It handles conversions
from MARC into ASCII (text), Library of Congress MARCMaker, HTML,
and ISBD. Input from MARCMaker format is also supported. Individual
records, fields, indicators, and subfields can be created, modified, and
deleted. It can extract URLs from the 856 field into HTML.
Dikt is a dictionary for KDE. Dikt is a network application
that implements the Dict protocol, with a browser interface
specialized for querying dictionaries.
Pod::DocBook is a module for translating Pod-formatted documents to
DocBook 4.2 SGML. It is primarily a back end for pod2docbook, but,
as a Pod::Parser subclass, it can be used on its own.
KDiff3 is a program that:
* compares or merges two or three text input files or directories,
* shows the differences line by line and character by character (!),
* provides an automatic merge-facility and
* an integrated editor for comfortable solving of merge-conflicts,
* supports KIO on KDE (allows accessing ftp, sftp, fish, smb etc.),
* Printing of differences,
* Manual alignment of lines,
* Automatic merging of version control history (cvs Log keyword),
* and has an intuitive graphical user interface.
