SDL_Console is a drop down console that can be easily added to any SDL
application. It is similar to Quake and other games consoles. A console
gives you the ability to interact with your program in an easy way by
executing predefined commands. You can also have more than one console
at a time.
Aview is powerful graphics viewer which utilize the aalib API and allows
viewing netpbm format (and others in the presence of netpbm or ImageMagick)
on console (using slang) and X.
There are three programs.
aview: the main program which could used to view pnm, ppm, pgm and pbm
files. It runs under X or slang.
asciiview: a shell script wraps around aview to allow wider range of image
formats to be viewed. Netpbm package is required for the conversion.
aaflip: a program to view flip animation using ascii text. Works under X
and slang.

lynx is a program which allows a user to access World-Wide Web servers
and other information servers. It uses only ascii representation so
that it can be used from ascii-terminals and dial-in lines.
This port installs the development version of lynx with some experimental
configulation options.
Elmo (ELectronic Mail Operator) is an ncurses-based program for
receiving, filtering, reading, composing, and sending mail from a
character terminal. It speaks POP3 and SMTP and can work with
maildir or Berkeley-formatted mailboxes.
This version is a development version, but is rather stable, and
is known to work better than the stable version on FreeBSD 4.x.
Before running elmo, users should run elmoconf.pl to generate an
~/.elmorc file.

Foremost is a console program to recover files based on their headers
and footers. Foremost can work on image files, such as those generated
by dd, Safeback, Encase, etc, or directly on a drive. The headers and
footers are specified by a configuration file, so you can pick and
choose which headers you want to look for.
