"A Tron clone in 3D"
This has been the tagline of Armagetron, since, well, a very long time, and is
probably the shortest and most accurate description possible. Tron was an
arcade game based on the movie of the same name, release by Disney in 1982. The
original game consisted of 4 sub-games, the only one of concern is the 'Light
Cycles' one, in which the player uses a left/right joystick to control a 'Light
Cycle' which leaves a wall behind it wherever the cycle it goes, turning only
at 90 degree angles (well, on most servers anyways). The player must then force
his opponents to crash into their wall while avoiding his opponents walls.
Those were the humble beginnings of Armagetron Advanced's game play, which has
now blossomed into 16 player mayhem, with highly advanced AI, network game
play, and of course all in a 3D environment.
AssaultCube, formerly ActionCube, is a free first-person-shooter based on the
game Cube. Set in a realistic looking environment, as far as that's possible
with this engine, while gameplay stays fast and arcade. This game is all about
team oriented multiplayer fun.
This is a port of Atomic Tanks, a 2D tank game where small tanks use
cartoonishly large weapons to blow up each other. Atomic Tanks is loosely
based on the classic DOS game, Scorched Earth. The game is very
flexible, allowing anywhere from two to ten players, variable environments
and a wide range of weapons and other items.
To work, this game requires that the Allegro graphics library be installed.
Battle Tanks is a funny battle on your desk, where you can choose one of
three vehicles and eliminate your enemy using the whole arsenal of weapons.
It has original cartoon-like graphics and cool music, its fun and dynamic,
it has several network modes for deathmatch and cooperative -- what else is
needed to have some fun with your friends? And all is packed and ready for
you in Battle Tanks. Some of the game highlights:
* Three vehicles: tank, Shilka, and rocket launcher, each having its
special features
* Lots of weapons: four types of ammo, six types of rockets, landing
troops, mines, etc.
* 13 multiplayer maps (nine ones for deathmatch and four ones for
cooperative mode) in different locations such as city, village, forest,
desert, etc.
* Game world that reacts on player: roads have traffic, buildings can be
destroyed, weather effects are simulated
* Lots of war objects: troops, vehicles, helicopters, etc.
* Keyboard and gamepad are supported
* Dedicated server mode (headless)

Biloba is a turn-based game for 2 to 4 players. Each player moves

play.
Block Rage is falling blocks game with a 2-player hotseat mode,
detailed graphics and animated plasmatic backgrounds.
It is a remake of the awesome DOS classic Xixit.
Clone of the strategy board game 'Blokus'. Four players must place
as many of their 21 pieces on the board as possible while preventing
others from doing the same.
This is made difficult by the fact that a piece played by a player
must touch another of the player's pieces, but only at their corners
(a player's first piece must touch a board corner).
The game is over when no player can play any new pieces. The winner
is the player with the fewest & smallest pieces remaining. Bonus
points are awarded for playing all pieces.
Features a tweakable AI to take the place of any human players.
Bombz is a simple 2D puzzle game. It doesn't really have a plot. The object is
to blow up all the bombs on each level then escape off the edge of the screen.
To blow up a bomb, push it to where you want to cause an explosion, then collect
a match (originally a detonator in the Archimedes version) and touch the bomb
again and quickly get out of the way. A bomb destroys everything surrounding it
except the metallic walls; if it blows up another bomb, that takes out
everything around it too so you can set off chain reactions.
