Unison is a file-synchronization tool for Unix and Windows. It allows two replicas of a collection of files and directories to be stored on different hosts (or different disks on the same host), modified separately, and then brought up to date by propagating the changes in each replica to the other. Unison shares a number of features with tools such as configuration management packages (CVS, PRCS, etc.) distributed filesystems (Coda, etc.) uni-directional mirroring utilities (rsync, etc.) and other synchronizers (Intellisync, Reconcile, etc).

MultiMail is an offline mail packet reader for UNIX and other systems. It currently supports the Blue Wave, QWK, OMEN, and SOUP formats. It has a full screen, color user interface, built with the curses library. Features include auto-decompression of packets with external compress program, user-friendly menus to select packet, area, letter, etc., save whole area or one letter in a text file, enter mail in any area (using an external editor), insert tagline from a tagline file, reply mail with quote, write netmail, and netmail addressbook.

The font and the layout were inspired by engraved music, but can be modified. The program also has limited MIDI functionality: you can write MIDI files, and there is a MIDI to lilypond conversion tool, midi2ly. A clone of the proprietary enscript program from Adobe Systems. For those who have never used enscript, it is a good ASCII to Postscript converter. The dvipdfmx (formerly dvipdfm-cjk) project provides an eXtended version of the dvipdfm, a DVI to PDF translator developed by Mark A. Wicks. The primary goal of this project is to support multi-byte character encodings and large character sets for East Asian languages by CID-keyed font technology. The secondary goal is to support as many features as pdfTeX developed by Han The Thanh. This project is a combined work of the dvipdfm-jpn project by Shunsaku Hirata and its modified one, dvipdfm-kor, by Jin-Hwan Cho.

This is a perl script that can generate compact, DSC-compliant Postscript out of a plain text file and a BDF font. The output can be previewed using Ghostscript under most platforms, or with the Windows shareware program "ROPS", or printed on Postscript printers, or converted to PDF using "ps2pdf". The motivation for creating this script was to be able to print texts in international character sets. Since it's much easier to create or edit bitmap (BDF/PCF) fonts than outline fonts, this script allows to print texts using your own fonts.
