Music Player Daemon (MPD) allows remote access for playing music (MP3, MP4,
Ogg, Flac, and more) and managing playlists. The design focus is on
integrating a computer into a stereo system that provides control for music
playback over a local network.
Since June 1998, a cycle-based SID emulator engine is available and is
distributed under the GNU General Public License (GPL). It's called reSID, is
programmed in C++, and so far has been developed by Dag Lem.
Requirement for processor power is huge (don't expect a complex SID emulator
like this to run on a machine with less than 233-300 MHz).
listener is a typical security-related program like the motion package
(which detects motion on a Webcam): it listens for sound. If it detects
any, it starts recording until the sound stops (or a bit later, which is
configurable). It stores the audio in .WAV files.
MAD is a high-quality MPEG audio decoder. It currently supports MPEG-1
as well as the MPEG-2 extension to Lower Sampling Frequencies. All
three audio layers (Layer I, Layer II, and Layer III a.k.a. MP3) are
fully implemented.
This is madplay (MP3-player) which is part of the project

Pithos is a Pandora client for the GNOME Desktop. The official
Flash-based client is a CPU hog, and Pianobar is a great
reverse-engineered implementation, but is command-line only. Neither
integrate with the desktop very well, missing things like media key
support and song notifications.
libao is a cross-platform audio library that allows programs to
output audio using a simple API on a wide variety of platforms.
On FreeBSD, it currently supports:
* null output
* raw output
* AU files
* WAV files
* OSS (Open Sound System)
And optionally:
* ESD (ESounD or Enlightened Sound Daemon)
* NAS (Network Audio System)
* PulseAudio
Puddletag is a audio tag editor similar to Windows program Mp3tag. Unlike most
taggers, it uses a spreadsheet-like layout so that all the tags you want to
edit by hand are visible and easily editable.
Supported formats: ID3v1, ID3v2 (mp3), MP4 (mp4, m4a, etc.), VorbisComments
(ogg, flac), Musepack (mpc), Monkey's Audio (.ape) and WavPack (wv)
Qsynth is a fluidsynth GUI front-end application written in C++ around
the Qt toolkit using Qt Designer. Eventually it may evolve into a
softsynth management application allowing the user to control and manage
a variety of command line softsynth but for the moment it wraps the
excellent FluidSynth.
SoundTracker is a pattern-oriented music editor (similar to the classic DOS
program FastTracker and the Amiga legend ProTracker). Samples can be lined
up on tracks and patterns which are then arranged to a song.
Supported module formats are XM and MOD; the player code is the one from
OpenCP. A basic sample recorder and editor is also included.

A synthetic benchmarking tool to measure peak capabilities of opencl devices.
It only measures the peak metrics that can be achieved using vector operations
and does not represent a real-world use case
