InterNetNews is a complete Usenet system. The cornerstone of the package
is innd, an NNTP server that multiplexes all I/O. Newsreading is handled
by a separate server, nnrpd, that is spawned for each client. Both innd
and nnrpd have some slight variances from the NNTP protocol.
Pan is a newsreader, loosely based on Agent and Gravity, which attempts to
be pleasant to use for new and advanced users alike. It has all the typical
features found in newsreaders, and also supports offline reading, multiple
connections, and a number of features for power users and alt.binaries fans.
SABnzbd is a cross-platform binary newsreader. It makes downloading
from Usenet easy by automating the whole thing. You give it an NZB
file or an RSS feed, it does the rest. Has a web-browser based UI
and an API for 3rd-party apps. Ideal for servers too.
Gnugadu2 is a modular instant messenger written with GTK+ targeted
mainly at Polish users of propietary Gadu-Gadu network.
GnuGadu2 sports a plugin extensible architecture. Beside Gadu-Gadu
it also supports Jabber, Tlen.pl, sending smses to Polish mobile
phones, spell checking, works with several sound servers.
This includes some tools that are in FreeType 1's contrib directory.

TeX world.

The library "libotf" provides the following facilites:
o Read Open Type Layout Tables from OTF file. Currently these
tables are supported; head, name, cmap, GDEF, GSUB, and GPOS.
o Convert a Unicode character sequence to a glyph code sequence by
using the above tables.
The combination of libotf and the FreeType library (Ver. 2) realizes
CTL (complex text layout) by OpenType fonts.
This package contains implentations of the Free Standards Group (FSG)
Open Printing API (PAPI) (v1.0) and client software that uses it.
The implemenations of the API are designed so that they can be used
individually to support client application interaction with a particular
type of print service or together to interact with a variety of different
print service types.
"Pcal" is a program to print PostScript calendars for any month and
year. By default, it looks for a file in the home directory named
"calendar" for entries with leading dates matching dates on the
calendar, and prints any following text under the appropriate day.
PyPdf isaA Pure-Python library built as a PDF toolkit. It is capable of:
- extracting document information (title, author, ...),
- splitting documents page by page,
- merging documents page by page,
- cropping pages,
- merging multiple pages into a single page,
- encrypting and decrypting PDF files.
PDF::Core is a pure Ruby library to render PDF documents.
It supports several PDF features, such as among others:
* low-level annotation
* istream objects and stream filters
* NameTree
* object repository
* object serialization
* indirect objects
* page geometries
It is used internally by Prawn (provided in the rubygems-prawn package),
a Ruby PDF generation library.
