The MirBSD Korn Shell (mksh) is enhanced of the Public Domain
Korn shell (pdksh), a bourne-compatible shell which is largely
similar to the original AT&T Korn shell.
Osh is a re-implementation of the old and obsolete shell version,
which was in standard use up to UNIX 6th Edition and was supplied
as osh with UNIX 7th Edition. Its command language is a sparse
subset of those of modern shells and is mostly common both to sh(1)
and csh(1).
The .tcshrc project creates a set of configuration scripts for the
TCSH shell. These scripts exploit the most advanced features of tcsh.
viewglob is an utility designed to complement the Unix shell in
graphical environments. It has two parts:
1. A tool that sits as a layer between the shell and X terminal,
keeping track of the user's current directory and command line.
2. A graphical display which shows the layouts of directories
referenced on the command line (including pwd).
The display reveals the results of file globs and expansions as they
are typed (hence the name), highlighting selected files and potential
name completions.
It can also be used as a surrogate terminal, where keystrokes typed in
the display are passed to the shell. Files and directories can be
double-clicked to insert their names and/or paths into the terminal.
Wcd is a command-line program to change directory fast. It saves time typing
at the keyboard. One needs to type only a part of a directory name and wcd
will jump to it. Wcd has a fast selection method in case of multiple matches
and allows aliasing and banning of directories. Wcd also includes a full
screen interactive directory tree browser with speed search.
Zsh is the Swiss Army knife of shells. It combines the most popular
features of every other shell, and then lets you customize every
inch of it. Users of bourne-style and C-style shells will feel at
home in it.
Zsh does intelligent completion, spell-checking, has a rich syntax
for precise globbing, and is fully extensible through plugin
systems.
To fire up the zsh completion system, type the following commands:
$ autoload -U compinstall
$ compinstall
BSDploy is a comprehensive tool to provision, configure and maintain
FreeBSD jail hosts and jails.
Its main design goal is to lower the barrier to repeatable jail setups.
* Modular provisioning with plugins for VirtualBox, Amazon EC2 and
an achitecture to support more.
* Bootstrap complete jail hosts from scratch.
* Declarative configuration: All hosts and their properties defined
in ploy.conf are automatically exposed to Ansible.
* Imperative maintenance: Run Fabric scripts with ploy do JAILNAME
TASKNAME and have all of the hosts and their variables in fab.env.
* Configure ZFS pools and filesystems with whole-disk-encryption.
The btsixad daemon allows the PlayStation 3 Sixaxis gamepad to be used
wirelessly over Bluetooth. When a gamepad is connected, the daemon cre-
ates a virtual USB HID device named btsixa*. This can be symlinked to
uhid* and used like an ordinary USB joystick or gamepad by SDL and other
programs.
busybox is a set of common utilities built as a single
crunched binary, and sometimes stripped down in features
to fit the needs of embedded systems.
Byobu is a Japanese term for decorative, multi-panel screens that serve as
folding room dividers. As an open source project, Byobu is an elegant
enhancement of the otherwise functional, plain, practical GNU Screen. Byobu
includes an enhanced profile and configuration utilities for the GNU screen
window manager, such as toggle-able system status notifications.
