Argon2 is a password-hashing function that summarizes the state of the
art in the design of memory-hard functions and can be used to hash
passwords for credential storage, key derivation, or other
applications.
Boost provides free peer-reviewed portable C++ source libraries.
The emphasis is on libraries that work well with the C++ Standard
Library. Boost libraries are intended to be widely useful, and usable
across a broad spectrum of applications. The Boost license encourages
both commercial and non-commercial use.
The goal is to establish "existing practice" and provide reference
implementations so that Boost libraries are suitable for eventual
standardization. Ten Boost libraries are already included in the C++
Standards Committee's Library Technical Report (TR1) and will be in
the new C++0x Standard now being finalized. C++0x will also include
several more Boost libraries in addition to those from TR1. More Boost
libraries are proposed for TR2.
NOTE: This package does not contain Boost.Python, it's in
'devel/boost-python-libs'.
This is an alternative C driver for MongoDB, with slightly different goals
than the official one:
libmongo-client is meant to be a stable (API, ABI and quality alike), clean,
well documented and well tested shared library, that strives to make the most
common use cases as convenient as possible.
Poslib is a portable C++ DNS library, a part of Posadis project.
It consists of two parts: a client library and a server library.
Using the client library, you can simply develop applications that use
the Domain Name System (DNS). It includes many functions for resolving,
domain-name manipulation and Resource Record (RR) creation.
The server library, based on the client core, can be used to develop
DNS servers. By implementing a query entry-point function using the
Poslib library of functions, you can easily create DNS servers,
without worrying about low-level details such as DNS message compilation,
domain-name compression and UDP/TCP transmission.
Alien lets a Lua application call load dynamic libraries and call C
functions in a portable way, using libffi.
`tnftp' (formerly lukemftp) is what many users affectionately call the enhanced
ftp client in NetBSD.
The enhancements over the standard ftp client in 4.4BSD include:
* command-line editing within ftp
* command-line fetching of URLS, including support for:
- http proxies (c.f: $http_proxy, $ftp_proxy)
- authentication
* context sensitive command and filename completion
* dynamic progress bar
* IPv6 support (from the WIDE project)
* modification time preservation
* paging of local and remote files, and of directory listings
(c.f: `lpage', `page', `pdir')
* passive mode support, with fallback to active mode
* `set option' override of ftp environment variables
* socks4/socks5 support
* TIS Firewall Toolkit gate ftp proxy support (c.f: `gate')
* transfer-rate throttling (c.f: `-T', `rate')
