Free Toolkit For Developing Mapping Applications
Mapnik is a Free Toolkit for developing mapping applications. It's written in C++ and there are Python bindings to facilitate fast-paced agile development. It can comfortably be used for both desktop and web development, which was something wanted from the beginning. Mapnik is about making beautiful maps. It uses the AGG library and offers world class anti-aliasing rendering with subpixel accuracy for geographic data. It is written from scratch in modern C++ and doesn't suffer from design decisions made a decade ago. When it comes to handling common software tasks such as memory management, filesystem access, regular expressions, parsing and so on, Mapnik doesn't re-invent the wheel, but utilizes best of breed industry standard libraries from boost.org.

devel/Term-Clui-1.70 (Score: 6.7831477E-4)
Perl module offering a Command-Line User Interface
Term::Clui offers a high-level user interface to give the user of command-line applications a consistent "look and feel". Its metaphor for the computer is as a human-like conversation-partner, and as each question/response is completed it is summarised onto one line, and remains on screen, so that the history of the session gradually accumulates on the screen and is available for review, or for cut/paste. This user interface can therefore be intermixed with standard applications which write to STDOUT or STDERR, such as make, pgp, rcs etc.
sysutils/fetchlog-1.4 (Score: 6.7831477E-4)
Fetch and convert new messages of a logfile
The fetchlog utility displays the last new messages of a logfile. It is similar like tail (1) but offers some extra functionality like pattern matching with regular expressions or output formatting. To show only the new messages appeared since the last call fetchlog uses a bookmark to remember which messages have been fetched. fetchlog works on syslog generated logfiles as well as other logfiles. fetchlog can be used standalone or as a Nagios (TM) plugin. Together with Net-SNMP one can look at/monitor new messages in remote logfiles. -Alexander Haderer alexander.haderer@loescap.de
