Protocol::SocketIO is a set of modules that implement Socket.IO protocol without depending on event loops, HTTP parsers and HTTP servers.

MuSE is an application for the mixing, encoding, and network streaming of sound. MuSE can simultaneously mix up to 6 encoded audio bitstreams (from files or network) plus a sound card input signal. The resulting stream can be played locally on the sound card and/or encoded as an mp3 bitstream sent to a broadcast server. MuSE offers an intuitive interface to be operated realtime and can run in "slick" mode from command line.

Gadfly is a relational database management system which uses a large subset of very standard SQL as its query language and Python modules and optional Python/C extension modules as its underlying engine. Gadfly stores the active database in memory, with recovery logging to a file system. It supports an optional TCP/IP based client server mode and log based failure recovery for system or software failures (but not for disk failures).

Tokyo Tyrant is a package of network interface to the DBM called Tokyo Cabinet. Though the DBM has high performance, you might bother in case that multiple processes share the same database, or remote processes access the database. Thus, Tokyo Tyrant is provided for concurrent and remote connections to Tokyo Cabinet. It is composed of the server process managing a database and its access library for client applications.

OpenCVS is a FREE implementation of the Concurrent Versions System, the most popular open source revision control software. It can be used as both client and server for repositories and provides granular access control over data stored in the repository. It aims to be as compatible as possible with other CVS implementations, except when particular features reduce the overall security of the system. Among other things, support for the pserver connection mechanism has been dropped because of security issues with the authentication mechanism.

Thrift is a lightweight, language-independent software stack with an associated code generation mechanism for RPC. Thrift provides clean abstractions for data transport, data serialization, and application level processing. The code generation system takes a simple definition language as its input and generates code across programming languages that uses the abstracted stack to build interoperable RPC clients and servers. Thrift is specifically designed to support non-atomic version changes across client and server code.

pgeodns is a simple DNS server that can distribute load for a hostname to the nearest mirrors (as defined by geography; on the country / continent level). It is used for search.cpan.org/cpansearch.perl.org and for ftp.perl.org/ftp.cpan.org; to provide nearby-ish servers for the NTP Pool; and to balance svn.apache.org to svn.us.apache.org and svn.eu.apache.org.
