Biber is a BibTeX replacement for users of biblatex, with full Unicode
support.
latex2rtf is a translator program that translates LaTeX text into the
RTF format used by several textprocessors, including Microsoft Word
and Word for Windows. It was written by Fernando Dorner and Andreas
Granzer in a one-semester course in our department. It was later
updated in another one-semester course by Friedrich Polzer and Gerhard
Trisko. Ralf Schlatterbeck <ralf@zoo.priv.at> maintained and extended
it until 1998. It is currently being maintained by Georg Lehner,
Scott Pralh, and Wilfried Hennings
IJS is a relatively new initiative to improve the quality and ease
of use of inkjet printing with Ghostscript. Using IJS, you can add
new drivers, or upgrade existing ones, without recompiling Ghostscript.
All driver authors are encouraged to adapt their drivers for IJS,
and if there is an IJS driver available for your printer, it should
be your first choice.
p910nd is a small printer daemon intended for diskless workstations that does
not spool to disk but passes the job directly to the printer.
foo2zjs is an open source printer driver for printers that use the Zenographics
ZjStream wire protocol for their print data, such as the Minolta/QMS magicolor
2300 DL or Konica Minolta magicolor 2430 DL. These printers are often
erroneously referred to as winprinters or GDI printers.
However, Microsoft GDI only mandates the API between an application and the
printer driver, not the protocol on the wire between the printer driver and the
printer. In fact, ZjStream printers are raster printers which happen to use a
very efficient wire protocol which was developed by Zenographics and licensed
by most major printer manufacturers for at least some of their product lines.
ZjStream is just one of many wire protocols that are in use today, such as
Postscript, PCL, Epson, etc.
This software creates output using the PPA (printer performance
architecture) protocol. This protocol is used by some HP "Windows-only"
printers, including the HP Deskjet 820C series, the HP DeskJet 720 series,
and the HP DeskJet 1000 series. It has been tested on all three printers,
but your personal experience (positive or negative) is very much appreciated!
flpsed is a WYSIWYG PostScript annotator. flpsed can add arbitrary text lines
to existing PostScript documents, but cannot remove or modify existing elements
of such documents. The added lines can later be re-edited with flpsed, either
interactively or via batch-processing (the latter is useful for repeatedly
filling in forms). Text lines can also be imported from other documents that
have been modified with flpsed.
Using pdftops, which is part of xpdf, one can convert PDF documents to
PostScript and then add text to them using flpsed. flpsed is thus useful for
filling in forms, adding notes, etc.
TTF2PT1 is a modification of Andrew Weeks TTF2PFA True Type to Postscript
Type 3 converter. Which will convert Most True Type Fonts to and Adobe
Type 1 .pfa file. The files produced are in human readable form, which
further needs to be encrypted with the t1utilities, to work with most
software requiring type 1 fonts.
TrueType to Type42 font converter
XPP is a graphical utility for managing printers and submitting print jobs.
It interfaces with CUPS on the backend and allows the user to configure
double sided printing, active tray, color adjustment, etc. It supports the
command line flags of lpr as well.
You will first need to configure a printer via CUPS to use XPP.
