During image processing operations such as scanning and scaling,
images tend to get blurry.
The blurred impression of these images is due to the fact that image
pixels are averaged with their neighbors. Blurred images don't have
sharp boundaries and look as though they have been taken with an
unfocussed camera.
Refocus is a GIMP plug-in to "refocus" the image, using a technique
called FIR Wiener filtering. The traditional technique for sharpening
images is to use unsharp masking. Refocus generally produces better
results than unsharp masking.
The plugin can be found under "Filters > Enhance > Refocus"
eLectrix is an application to view Portable Document Format (PDF) files.
Features:
- zoom an rotation
- basic text search
- basic navigation history
- fullscreen mode
- tabs
Giram Is a Renderer And a Modeller.
It is a Persistance Of Vision (POV-Ray) oriented modeller, but may become
more of a general modeller in the future.
A plugin to GKrellM that displays thumbnails of periodically updated
images.
The goal of the OpenGL Extension Wrangler Library (GLEW) is to assist
C/C++ OpenGL developers with two tedious tasks: initializing and using
extensions and writing portable applications. GLEW provides an efficient
run-time mechanism to determine whether a certain extension is supported
by the driver or not. OpenGL core and extension functionality is exposed
via a single header file.
Gltt is a library that allows you to read and draw TrueType fonts
in any OpenGL application. It supports bitmapped and anti-aliased
font drawing as well as vectorized and polygonized drawing.
GOCR/JOCR is an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) program, developed
under the GNU Public License.
GOCR can be used with different front-ends, which makes it very
easy to port to different OSes and architectures. It can open many
different image formats, and its quality have been improving in a
daily basis.
A Tcl Package to Read and Write Shapefiles
Gpsmanshp was developed for use in GPSMan, a manager of GPS receiver
data. It is written in C and is based on shapelib.
Converseen is an open source project written in C++ with the powerful Qt4
libraries. Thanks to the Magick++ image libraries it supports more than 100
image formats. You can convert and resize an unlimited number of images to
any of the most popular formats: DPX, EXR, GIF, JPEG, JPEG-2000, PDF, PhotoCD,
PNG, Postscript, SVG, and TIFF.
gSculpt is an open source, procedural subdivision modeller. It has a
comprehensive set of polygon modelling tools, including most of those
found in Wings 3D, and more.
Workflow and speed of use are important design goals in the
development of gSculpt. Pre-selection highlighting throughout the
program, and keyboard short cuts ensure that the workflow is fast and
efficient, while providing access to a powerful procedural system
which allows mistakes to be rectified easily.
Its procedural modelling system makes it an excellent choice for
making modelling tutorials, as the steps required to build the model
from the beginning are displayed to the user in a list. This list can
be navigated easily, allowing a user to view the process one step at a
time, at their own pace, while being able too look at the model from
all angles as they go.
gSculpt can import and export Wavefront Object (.obj) model files.
