Simple n-gram (bi-gram) fulltext parser plugin for MySQL
MySQL has fulltext index search ability for text field, but it is word based index: it cannot be used for no word delimiter language like Japanese or Chinese. It also can't search characters in the middle of a word (e.g. searching 'in' will not match word 'ping'). Starting from MySQL 5.1, MySQL supports a plugin that allows to change server components (fulltext search parser) without restarting and/or recompiling the server. This n-gram parser uses this plugin interface to implement a simple n-gram (bi-gram) fulltext index parser which can be used for languages without word delimiters.

Perl5 Database Interface, required for DBD::* modules
The DBI interface allows perl programs to use DBD (Database Definition) drivers with a common set of routines. A program can then (theoretically) change from using mSQL to Oracle (for example) without changing the entire program around. This DBI interface is not yet fully specified. The current development work is focused on writing drivers, such as DBD::Oracle, which also implement emulations of old perl4 database interfaces, e.g., oraperl. This strategy enables the DBI and drivers to serve a useful purpose whilst allowing the real interface to evolve with experience behind the emulation interface.

Configuration management
A configuration management library for programs and daemons. Features include: * Automatic, dynamic reloading in response to modifications to configuration files. * A simple, but flexible, configuration language, supporting several of the most commonly needed types of data, along with interpolation of strings from the configuration or the system environment (e.g. $(HOME)). * Subscription-based notification of changes to configuration properties. * An import directive allows the configuration of a complex application to be split across several smaller files, or common configuration data to be shared across several applications.

POE component base class which implements the Observer pattern
POE::Component::Syndicator is a base class for POE components which need to handle a persistent resource (e.g. a connection to an IRC server) for one or more sessions in an extendable way. This module (as well as Object::Pluggable, which this module inherits from) was born out of POE::Component::IRC, the guts of which quickly spread to other POE components. Now they can all inherit from this module instead. The component provides an event queue, which can be managed with the methods documented below. It handles delivery of events to the object itself, all interested plugins, and all interested sessions.

Framework for implementing Subversion hooks
SVN-Hooks is a Perl framework for creating Subversion hooks. It comes with a bunch of plugins (actually, sub-modules of SVN::Hooks) that implement some of the most used standalone Subversion hooks available, such as pre-commit hooks for enforcing: - the log message format - property settings - the repository structure - restrictions on the modification of repository areas (e.g., /tags) - restrictions on filenames - the integration with ticketing systems It also comes with post-commit hooks for: - sending commit emails - updating configuration files in the server from changes made in the repository But as a framework, it can be extended to implement all types of hooks.

Utilities to display images in X11
These utilities display several types of images under X11, or load images onto the X11 root window. A variety of options are available to modify images prior to viewing. These options include clipping, dithering, depth reduction, zoom (either X or Y axis independently or both at once), brightening or darkening, input gamma correction, and image merging. When applicable, these options are applied automatically (e.g. a color image to be displayed on a monochrome screen will be dithered automatically). An utility (xlito) is provided that allows these viewing options to be appended to the image files.
